i dont understand why it would be discontinued or just ran out of. why does this happen? its not because of material is it? im just puzzled why such a good thing is no more.
I believe it was cause Winbond deemed it was too expensive to fabricate and there were far too few consumers that were actually smart enough to buy RAM with BH-5 chips and even fewer that know anything about timings and overclocking.
^ Pretty much hit it on the nose. BH-5 chips are more expensive to make, and the market for high performance RAM is not very big when you consider that only a very small portion of computer users actually buy performance RAM (as opposed to whatever they sell at Best Buy and CompUSA).
