What exactly does it mean up to 4.20Ghz, if my CPU is not a K processor,

How exactly can i overclock/turbo boost my cpu if it's not a K processor,

can someone explain this to me,

this is my processor
https://ark.intel.com/products/97128/Intel-Core-i7-7700-Processor-8M-Cache-up-to-4_20-GHz

I also tried mining on my processor so i could see if the GHz would go up, and it did,
when mining it says Speed 4.04GHz, but base speed 3.60GHz

im confused

how is it going past the 3.60,

I5, I7, I9 and Xeons have a Turbo boost feature. They run at a reduced rate and ramp up to their max speed automatically under load. Mining is probably using all the cores/threads so you get the 4.0 Speed. If you had a single thread application you would see that 4.0 go to 4.2. All non K chips do this to their own base/max speeds in every board.

A K-chip can do so as well, but when paired with a Z-board will allow you to adjust the ratio and go beyond the 4.2

I3, Pentium and Celeron do not have turbo clocks
