Have you checked eBay lately?

Yes I'm aware of the current bubble. I wasn't born yesterday. It was a general statement, and one that usually holds true. When the bubble eventually pops, it will be more true than ever as used cards flood the market and prices of used cards plummet. At that point new cards will still likely be at or near MSRP. It would make for a great time to snag 2-4 used cards for Multi-GPU, but obviously with DX12 that's not really an option anymore unfortunately.

I wasn't saying you were. Somehow I overlooked the fact that you were making a blanket statement, not necessarily waxing on the current state of affairs.

Well video cards do hold value, you just have to buy/sell at the right time.

Even before crypto/covid the best time to buy would be when the new gen cards come out, you buy the last gen used cause everyone is selling like crazy.

For example, if you have a GTX 1060, hold onto it until the 3060 comes out, then buy the 2060 for cheap. And then sell the 1060. I used to play that game for a while and it made upgrades very cheap.
