Why are Founder's Editions selling for so much?

That's not Nvidia's fault. It says clearly "Sold by" by the add to cart.

If Nvidia's store on their website said the same thing, it would be different. Right now the MSRP on their website for a 1070Ti is $449 and a 1080Ti is $699 IIRC.

nVidia's own store prices are a bit jacked up as well, but that's not even what I suspect the main reason is for such drastically fucked up prices - I think nVidia stopped or cut production of the 1080s, 70s etc by probably 90-95%, so they will be a rare sight at retail and MSRP, and AMD looks to have stopped making 480s/580s etc completely as they switched to producing the Vega/RX Vega stuff.

I imagine, both companies are pretty busy stamping out the new GPUs to fill up their stock for the upcoming launches, whenever they might happen.
