Why am I getting bad FPS in Valheim with this build? RTX 3090 + threadripper 3970x

I am only getting about 25fps on average in Valheim with a RTX 3090 and AMD Threadripper 3970x and 128gb of ram.

Is this normal? Shouldn't I be getting way more FPS with my hardware?

I attached screen shots of my graphic settings + EVGA precision

I have a 6800xt with a 3700x and 32gb and get 55.4frames but tuned the card and fan curve (fan runs hard most of the game), needed to turn candy down too; the new release has brought the temp down a bit. Was getting the same on a 5700 vid card. Both at 4k set at 60fps for my monitor.
The game is just not optimal yet.

I could be wrong but suspect it's because you have it set to use infinite dynamic light sources and shadows...

Just because it's a slider doesn't mean you're supposed to crank it.

Few things really. First, try defaulting your settings in EVGA X1. Like others said, you have your power/temp sliders way too low. Also yeah, Valheim is extremely poorly optimized. Might need to take those sliders down a bit, specifically active point lights/active point shadows and draw distance.

Afterwards, check task manager to see whether it's CPU or GPU bottlenecking
