hey guys trying to upgrade my server to windows home server 2011 everything is running fine but i cannot seem to access the rocket raid webpage administration the page just times out

i have the exactly the same setup as before if i change boot drive to the old os server08 the webpage loads fine soon as i load into whs i cannot access the page i figured it could be a driver problem so i copy the same drivers across no such luck same problem even dowload drivers from highpoint website and nothing still cant find it

i have run the rocket raid diag software it finds the card and says the card is operational and the port the card is listening on but still no luck hopefully someone can help the os is useless without it

i am running 2 rocketraid 2680s with 16 drives both raid 5s can be found in the disk management console on both operating systems

If you're using WHS2011's install of IE to access the web page, it's probably being blocked by the extra protection that is enabled by default.

The easiest way around it would be to install Firefox on the box and use that to access the web page. Beyond that, you'd have to add the administration page to I.E.'s trusted sites and what-not (the what-not being opening up any necessary ports in the windows firewall).

hrmm yea thats wat i thort i have tried disable firwall and used google chrome i wil give firefox a go i have also added it to the trusted zones

It could be something else too...

Technically speaking, the web server that's letting you manage the card isn't on the card itself, it's a separate application that runs in the background (usually as a service). Make sure that the card software is installed correctly and you're running the latest version. Beyond that, you may have to make it so that the software runs as admin on the box.

I just checked on Highpoint's web site, and sure enough, the webgui is separate. Make sure you're running version 1.5.6 and that you run it as admin too.

cheers mate ill have a check of that software when i get home i have tried running it as an admin but using the drivers and software from disk im not sure why the same drivers work on server 2008 which is basicly same os
