Who makes Dell's notebooks?

Just as the title states, who makes Dell notebooks? Interested mostly in the 9200, XPS, 8600. Thanks.

I'm going to say Dell...

I think they have a fab just north of here (in Austin) that churns out the laptops (among other things).

8600: Compal
9200: Wistron (i believe)
XPS: no idea

except for the 700m, all the designs are exclusive to dell.

I thought lenvo (the company that just bought the pc division from IBM) also did some of them

but basicly a company in tiwan or china.....

the austin plant (AFAIK) just does assembly and custimization

Thanks for the replies. Who would you consider to be the better (best) notebook manufacturer? Wistron, Compal, Clevo, someone else? TIA

IBM Laptops (at least the X & T) certainly don't suck.

As far as the Dell laptops go, the one I've been most impressed with is the D600. I simply don't care for the plastic behemoths of their Inspiron line.
