I just hope they don't have him take his mask off anymore, as that dude's face hit every branch falling out of the ugly tree.

No facial symmetry, dumbo ears, mega-schnaz, soft jawline, pencil neck, etc... I mean, how are we supposed to believe that Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher could produce a baby that fubar? Like, did their positive hotness polarity somehow cancel out?

Call me old fashioned, but I miss the days when they thought "hey, if the audience is going to be looking at these guys for hours on end, why not have them be easy on the eyes?" I would have preferred Jake Gylleneneaahaalalal or however he spells it for the role.

Lol! Point taken -- even Palpatine looked like a cheerfully middle-aged man before he showed off his real Sith face. Guess that's a lesson Kylo hasn't gotten to yet (Sith/whatever Class 201).

Mike Vogel would have made for one hell of a Solo and Leia love child. He looks just like a young Harrison.

Im looking forward to this, I've enjoyed both Disney Star Wars movies. They've given me enough to trust them moving forward.

Maybe they learned from Rogue One, which while not perfect. (With Catlyst, the movie is so much more rewarding, but not necessary for the plot to make any modicum of sense. Unlike TFA with Before The Awakening or the other JTTFA books). Was leagues above The Farce Awakens in it's script and character development. TFA was basically badly written fan fiction by and for a specific subset of OT fanboys who can't look beyond their childhood ideal of Star Wars. Doing only as much as maintaining the status quo.
Shit, even the cover art design is terrible generic focus tested hollywood Blue and Orange 101.

I know women who think the guy who played Rylo was hot, so I think they covered their bases.

This is kind of random but it does occurs to me part of what hurt Kylo Ren is not only did he act like a whiny douche(so did anakin now that I think of it.), but he really looked like it. I think there would have been an interesting counterpoint if he actually looked dashing and heroic but also maybe genuinely thought he was in the right. That would have been cool. Kylo Ren has got to be the most unsympathic character I've ever seen in a Star Wars movie.

One of the cool twists of frozen if you've managed to avoid it is that the dreamy dashing good guy prince at the last moment is revealed to be a fucking murderous scumbag.

Got forbid Abrams be capable of any subtlety and mystery.

Not sure how capable Luke would be as a teacher. The little training he had was with a Yoda who was batshit crazy from living alone and old age senility.

Luke could be riding Rey like a donkey while hitting her with his cane as part of her training.

If that's the type of training he put his students through, no wonder Kylo embraced the Dark side.

Fan theory is he's not as along as we think. He has the ghost hotline to Yoda, Obi Wan and even his dad. From there they could have helped complete his training.

It's also believed Obi Wan talked to Qui-Gon Jinn a lot while being Old Ben.

I submit that he wasn't "acting" like a whiny douche, but that they picked a whiny douche for the role. He was just saying his lines normally and trying to sound cool, and probably mad when the director was like, "That's not bad, I like the whiny douche angle you're going with here", because he didn't intend that at all. :D

There is no speculation. Being a Jedi is about more than simply being able to manipulate the Force. Luke is the only Jedi that is still alive, while Rey has a long way to go to be worthy of that title and Kylo Ren killed all of Luke's students in the visions we see.

From what we saw from luke until RotJ to what we see with Rey in TFA, Rey is already at least as powerfull as Luke with no jedi training.

I came here to say the last Jedi is Ang, then I thought I can't be the only one with that thought and I was looking for a 'shopped picture. I'm a bit disappointed.

I wonder how will the title translate into other languages which could better define jedi as singular or plural.

Possibly Jedi is singular in that Luke is the last Jedi however if the last single jedi finds a padawan than one becomes two. Two becomes four and four becomes eight...

I know this is Star Wars, but that's still a lot of incest.

LOL. Thought the same thing about Kylo and you hit on something with thinking "dumbo ears". Disney "Disney-fied" Star Wars with the people they selected. They look like Disney characters. Mickey Mouse is going to be the Last Jedi.

Rogue One had character development?

You must have seen something other than the theatrical version.

No one is really pure evil. I never got this light and dark balance bullcrap some people are fascinated with. It's like mixing Chocolate with Vanilla. You get Chocolate. The background about the Dark Side is pretty clear, you can't just dabble in it, and it derives from negative motives. Maybe in some extended universe nonsense its treated like different sports teams.

Why is it that for the last twenty plus years every protagonist has to be John Rambo Da Vinci?

There's not a lot of depth to a character that can do everything in the most awesome way imaginable. All while filled with brilliance and love for his fellow man.
It's all fiction, but there's a difference between surviving a real risk in the context of the fiction and surviving a situation that wasn't a risk at all.

Well personally I gave TFA around a 6.5/10... It copied ANH story line way too much. That being said, I think that the actors were well picked except for Adam Driver. He doesn't look the part at all for one, but also acting wise in my opinion is piss poor. I also feel by letting him take his mask off ruined that sense of mystique / evilness about him. Even though it would have been a copy of Darth Vader (but his character is ideally Vader incarnate or l is trying to be so) they could have left him masked until episode 9. Where then we would see a wounded young man that Luke failed, just how Obi-Wan failed Anakin.

If they do decide to kill Luke, I'm thinking it will be a copy of how Obi-Wan dies. Not sure how they will play out Leia though with regards to Carrie Fisher (may the force be with her).

I do like the character of Rey though and think that she will definitely make the series better. I will admit that when she grasps for the lightsaber at the end of Awakens, and the music plays... Got a little emotional for me.

Lego isn't plural....

It's Lego bricks, or legos.

News to me, seems Lego is on the box when you buy them, even though there are many inside. Same with Eggo waffles.

I for one Love the Force Awakens and love what is Happening with Star Wars.. I am glad to see people like JJ getting a chance to continue the story. I watched the original at the drive in back in 77 at the age of 6 I met my Wife at a Star Wars fan club and 2 of our 3 daughters are named after Star Wars Heroes from the Books (Mara and Teneniel). The Last Jedi is Luke's Story as he was referred to as the last Jedi in the Force awakens. I guess it will be the story of him passing on his mantel. I have to shake my head at all the Millennials who think it is their right to tell us what Star wars needs to be or jumping on the bandwagon of click bait slander just to piss real fans off. If you don't like it dont watch it. I will see it at 12AM opening day like I have with all SW movies from Return of the Jedi at the age of 12.

I also dislike greatly all the millennials wearing SW gear...and when you mention your daughters name (Mara Jade .....you can't have the last name) they are like whhaaaa?? Who is that? OK, maybe the EU isn't canon, but F it, it's canon to me! LOL I used to pretend getting lightsaber and blaster kits in the mail when I was 5 running around shooting my brothers.

Yeah as can be seen pretty clear it had taken 3 films for Luke to become a Jedi with 'Return of the Jedi'.
I think the latest title is not well thought out because Disney has said all the animations are also canon, so are Disney going to infer Ezra (same age as Luke) was killed along with Kanan (who technically is the last original taught temple tested Jedi).

They did say they wanted to keep the Star Wars VII-IX films and animation separate, which is fine but they still need to consider such aspects when they create the narrative 'The Last Jedi'.
Coming back to Luke, I guess by accident from a story-narrative perspective one could say he was also sort of tested when he went into the Dark Side cave but it is debated whether he failed by striking down Vader *shrug*.
Cheers

This is why Ben/Kylo went to the Sith. He was sick of people making fun of how ugly and wimpy he is.

Remember when there were only three films? Good times...

I used to say, even before the prequels, that I wish they'd make more Star Wars movies. At the time I wanted it to pick up after RotJ so I was somewhat disappointed that they were to take place before A New Hope. But it was still Star Wars. And now we get to see what happened after RotJ. I don't get people's complaints.
