who got a less than 3 score on vista?

My HPQ xw9300:

Processor AMD Opteron 250 - 3.9
Memory (RAM) 2.00GB - 5.6
Primary hard disk 42.42GB free (68.36GB Total) - 4.5
Graphics Radeon X600 Series - 2.9
Gaming Graphics 128MB Graphics Memory - 2.9
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overall Rating - 2.0

OK, this box is a paltry workstation that I can add a second processor to (even if it is and older Opteron built on 130nm), expand it to 16GB or RAM (even though DDR400 & ECC), and use SLI video cards if I wanted (if SLI worked under Vista), but a 2?

What are you talking about? I don't have a x64 processor, which that thread deals with (why'd you post it four times?).

Whoa, 'roid rage! :) Calm down!

I got a 3 and I've got a somewhat newer PC. I'm upgrading to a fast, overclocked Core Duo in a few months with 4 GB DDR2 and a DX10 video card. I'm hoping for at LEAST a 6 with that upgrade.
 
I got a 2 which doesnt bother me at all seeing since I'm only on a laptop.
 
I have a 4 in 32 bit as well.

psh... I only got a 1 and vista still runs smoothly with all the pretties turned on.
 
I get a 5.9 with an X1900XT CFE

What's funny is with 2 GB RAM, I only get a 5.4 in RAM rating, this guy gets a 5.1 with half as much.

It also looks like they score the HDD based on size, not free space.

I think if I had dedicated more space for the Vista partition and manage to get that HDD score to at least a 4, I'd get an over all score of a 4.

It seems like Vista likes to round DOWN the lowest score u got in all your components.

EDIT: LOL @ Sonicks, You got a better video card, yet it gave you a worst combined score of video card and video ram! lol This rating system is REALLY screwed up.
 
Ok, this is weird. I clicked the "refresh rating" link and my Processor and Video Memory scores went up. :confused:

I thought it was strange I only got 3.8 on the graphics memory.
 
My 1GB of memory achieves a 5.9 score. It also has very relaxed timings. Possibly the most useless benchmark ever?

2x512
GeForce 6600gt
80gb primary
160gb secondary

I got a 2.4 score with the system in sig. Part of the low score was because i used a 20gb disk for vista.
 
I guess my weak thing is all that pron I got:

Now dig this...just Ghosted Vista off of my 30gb partition on one hard drive, and put it all by itself in a 300gb brand new drive (EXACT model as the one with the 30gb partition).

Re-ran the performance assesor, and guess what my HD score went to?

From 4 on the partition with 16gb free to 3 on its own drive with 270gb free.

Go figure. Ran it four times, no change.

As a rough guideline for what kind of software the average un-informed consumer can run, I suppose it's ok...as long as the software vendors don't USE that metric to pre-configure options in the software.

As an e-penis metric, it sucks (pun intended).

I read somewhere that atm the PA doesn't properly diagnose a lot of things and gives inconsistent values on most hardware.

I wouldn't consider any value it gives you even remotely accurate.

If I get a chance, I'll post the screen from my FX-60 for laughs. ;)

EDIT - I got a 3 on my FX60 system, the main killer was HD speed. I'm using an old 120 GB drive thats not even 7200 RPM to test on atm. Assuming I move to a 7200 rpm or 10k Raptor, I'd prolly make 4.

Overall, the rating scale needs a lot of work still methinks.
