Would like to get a good idea of what X58 motherboards the majority of [H] users prefer. I use the eVGA X58 good combination of performance/warranty/support and step-up ability. Unfortunately I can't list all motherboard as the poll only limits to 10 choices so I'll put 10 poll options with 15 boards, if your board is not in the list just include it in a post.

i voted the msi platinum, but i built a rig using the biostar tpower board also.

I use the EVGA X58. I want to upgrade to the EVGA Classified though when it comes out. :)

I might do the same depending on cost to step-up, I don't plan I running Tri-SLI with physX just my 4870x2 it just looks really good, that's why I can't justify spending more than 100 to step-up

I use the EVGA x58, love the board, love the support, quite an easy and stable OC with my True120. I definitely recommend it but there are a lot of great options out there. Get what is going to suit you best.

Wow...can't believe how few of us are using the ROG II Extreme.

For many, it was a choice of bang for the buck. ROG II is a top of the line board, and doesn't take bang for the buck into account. I went with the cheapest X58 board I could find that I could trust. Won't touch anything from ECS or Asrock, so Gigabyte UD3R is the bang for buck winner in my book.

I wanted to buy one, but the PCIe spacing and lack of SAS killed it. If it's a high end board, it should have SAS. That and it's audio solution wasn't really onboard and eats up a slot. Pushed me over the edge and ordered a WS Revolution.

not sure why you'd break out the GA-EX58-EXTREME? If anything, it's basically an identical board ot the UD5 with a waterblock on it.

I think it was a good choice to separate it from the others. It gives a good impression on how many are buying it vs the UD5 and others.

I have both the EVGA and the ASUS Rampage
-both are really amazing
-each could learn from the other though :/

But I am having problems with the board and RMAing it monday

I went for the P6T6 WS Revolution, really liked the legacy free idea, and the board layout is very good.

evga x58 sli (poll not working right now so i didnt vote). when i bought it the only other boards available were asus and gigabyte so i mean, come on. but now theres a dfi available, a foxconn and the evga x58 upgraded board is coming out soon. so at least now there is a few to choose from.

edit btw the poll is skewed, it counted me 6 times for evga. remember - vote early, and often.

biostar works for me, oc'ed 920 to 4ghz @ 1.31v with HT on, linx and prime95 stable

The plain old ASUS P6T...no Deluxe or WS. Solid board, cheaper than the other two and has a better PCIe/PCI layout.

Loving the Splashtop feature (5 second boot!), and the other utilities that come with it. BIOS is highly configurable, it is a cool-running board...like it a lot. Worth a look if you do not plan to use SAS.

Nice... I really like the layout and color scheme on the Tpower... I was very tempted to try it but after my msi went kaput I felt like sticking to gigabyte, who has always come through for me in the end.. even though the slot layout was not ideal, the ud5 has been an extremely good board for me so far.. really happy with it.

Asus Rampage 2 Extreme for now, might have to change later if i get a raidcard and SSD:s or when x16 x16 x16 really do any difference for my third 280 that is on the way..

read the front page article. 16x16x16 made no difference, even performed slighly less than 16x8x8. suspected latency pickup from nf200 chip. maybe with some future vid cards, but not now.

Asus P6T Deluxe.

Rock stable for me. Not a single crash/BSOD/problems since the first day it came out. :)

JUST ordered my new build with the evga x58. yay for 12 month interest free financing from newegg.

Readed/watched that video when is was out, but when it will be time for SSD a raidcard is a given thing for me even for Vertex/Intel and that means 4 slots usable.

System has been running just fine for the last month and a half, I was considering the X58 but it just didn't have anything to say "buy me instead of the X58 UD5" besides a lifetime warranty.
