Will use a cheap 2700x for now and eventually upgrade CPUs when they come down in price.

Will buy cas 16, PC3600 RAM.

I would have gone for the Newegg deal on the WS ACE board.

This is assuming I was building out a poor man's workstation around 3950x/3900x and would neede the PLX chip to add lanes.
