using a gygabyte p35 ds3lmobo the geforce 7600 i am using has some problems... i would like to upgrade

first: this is a PCI express (1) mobo. pci express 2,0 is not backwards compatible?
second: if not, where then to find a list of possible video upgrades?

thanks

PCI-E 2.0 is backwards compatible with PCI-E 1.1, which the P35 has.

Your post is really vague. Please answer the following:
1) What's your budget for this new video card?
2) What is the max resolution of your montior
3) What PSU do you have? Exact manufacturer and model please.

ah... sorry for vagueness. a well formed question gets a well formed answer.

thank you so much for helping to clarify my question

1) max $100
2) monitor is HP LP2475W running at 1900 x 1200
3) psu is Corsair 520HX

$5 over your budget but it is your best bet for a video card within that budget range that can handle your resolution with a mixture of medium and low settings:
$105 - Biostar VA4853NHG2-YB1RY Radeon HD 4850 1GB PCI-E Video Card

That said, it's gonna be a huge jump over your 7600 card.

If you're not gaming at all, this video card should be fine:
$35 - Asus EAH4350 SILENT/DI/512MD2(LP) Radeon HD 4350 512MB PCI-E Video Card
