Which setup

I play games like Doom3,Quake4Fear and Half-Life2.Which is a better set up.
I just bought a MSI K8N NEO2 Platinum mb.I have a 6800 ultra video card to.Now heres the question.I'm looking at a AMD 3500+cpu and OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Platinum.And a AMD 3700+cpu and OCZ Platinum Series with Enhanced Bandwidth technology (EB) Dual Channel Kits 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR 500 (PC 4000).I will be overclocking.Is it worth spending the extra money on the 3700 cpu and memory for gaming.Or should I get the 3500 and the pc 3200 or pc 4000 memory.I'm not looking for an overclock out of this world.Just want to get to about 2.4 or 2.5 Mhz if I can.Thanks for your help.

buy an opteron 144 or 146, good pc3200 or pc4000 will be fine. CPU clock speed is king, and you can use ram dividers to push the FSB up REALLY high and keep the memory low.

144s and 146 are tops for o/c'in it seems and they have 1MB L2.

otherwise I'd got with a 3200+, a 10x multiplier is really all you need to get 2.5-2.6 easily.
