As the title says, apart from [H], which sites do you recommend?

Looking for somewhere with proper technical articles and/or discussion, actively updated.

Not just headline articles like "Wow look at this new Cloud shit that will transform your life" that doesn't tell IT professionals anything useful.

I'd like to read in-depth information and advice on topics like storage systems, networking, security threats, server operating systems, backup technologies, etc.

Don't mind paying for access, as long as it's worth it.

Spiceworks & Reddit, mostly. Spiceworks is mostly related to industry professionals, and Reddit--though it has a ton of crazy--has some good forums for tech topics. These are just forums, though.

ETA: Sophos usually has daily security topics if you follow them on Facebook. Sometimes they are more interesting than others. I follow a few other random tech/geek stuff, but that's really the only one that's specifically computer-related.

Agree on Spiceworks, great info. I browse MS Technet forums and blogs, VMware forums, etc.

I also visit:
Serverfault.com
Infoworld and
ComputerWorld.

+1 Reddit and Spiceworks. For Reddit I'd suggest making a personal multi-Reddit with lots of sub-reddits, such as /r/cableporn, /r/cablefail, /r/ITdept, /r/managedit, /r/netsec, /r/networking, /r/PowerShell, /r/sysadmin, etc, etc, etc. Don't forget to include some IT related interests just so it's not all work.

Ars, /., twitter is actually a very good source if you know who and what to follow.

Hi guys

Good links - what about podcasts for when reading would be hazzardous to your health?

My favourite for podcasts is:

http://packetpushers.net/

I'm still trying to find a good Linux podcast provider that isn't old / out of date and updated often.
