Which NVMe to choose for the Z590 board?

What are you going to do with it? For a lot of common tasks you won't notice a difference between a 2GB/s relatively cheap PCIe3 device and the fastest PCIe4 you can get. Other times it will be obvious. So what are you going to do with it?

I decided on the 980 pro for my OS drive in my new build.
Went from about 40-45 seconds with my previous 960 to around 20-25 on the 980 pro. (Working to speed it up more)
From Bios screen to windows is quick, just a little slow getting to Bios on my system but not too bad.

the question is whether you can show speed tests and abilities that will say
which NVMe ?

  • PCIe 4.0x4, NVMe 1.4 Interface ?

970 pro will be consistently faster then a 980 pro as samsung has tainted the pro line by using TLC so it has to have a SLC cache to Maintain performance,, it can be between 4 (all ssds) to 100GB of SLC cache depending on how much data is stored (more data smaller SLC cache) and the size of the ssd

970 and older pro is MLC and does not use SLC cache, performance is the same no matter how much you write to it (or can go intel optane )
