I am not a big gamer, i game about once a week, but when i game , i game big

i have 2 computers, im trying to figure out which one is faster

Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 @ 2.33Ghz

or

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0 ghz

they are both lga 775, so i can easily swap the processors, which one is faster for my causal gaming on weekends

Yeah. That quad can overclock pretty near as high as you want until you start getting too hot.

I had my q6700 at 4.2ghz for years on water.

Yep, clocked quad core.
I ran a Q9700 at 4.2GHz on air, default 3.16GHz.
It was good for 4.4Ghz but there was no need so I kept it safe.
Its a rare cpu so I still have it.

quad core, hands down... hate to burst your bubble, but you arent going to "GAME BIG" on it.. this isnt 2007 anymore.

Not entirely true. Those c2q CPUs were the cat's ass for much longer than 2007.

I ran a q6700 @ 4.2ghz up until 18 months ago and paired with a decent video card I would say my overall game performance was pretty close to my current 1150 socket Pentium at the stock 3.2ghz. With the Pentium at 4.4ghz it beats the c2q, but not by much.
