Hi,

I can't seem to find the correct answer to this problem.

A retailer sells the AMD 4200 Dual core with the following code: ADA4200DAA5CD. My understanding is that this is a Toledo?
I thought the ADA4200DAA5BV was the Manchester core. However, I queried this with the retailer and they said the info was correct. So I queried again and they said the Manchester cores have 2x512mb L2 and Toledos have 2x1mb L2.

I always thought the E4 stepping was Manchester and E6 Toledo.

Any chance someone shed some light on this please.

Many thanks

it is sort of ambiguous, because toledo cores can have 1/2 the cache disabled to make a 'manchester', but it's really a 1/2 cache toledo :p

the last two letters in the OPN:
CD = toledo
BV = manchester

:cool:

if its a x2 4200+ 939 socket, its a manchester, manchesters where 2x512kb L2.

Edit, The toledo version is the 4400+ x2 running 2.2 ghz with 2x1mb L2

Its Toledo with half cache. There are Sandiego E6, thats also Toledo with disabled core.

Thanks guys.

Another retailer selling the same CPU (with same code) seems to indicate they are Toledo whereas the one I saw informed me they are Manchesters.

Now Im not sure whether to go for one to upgrade my 3700 or if I should

a) wait till AMD announces their new line and hope for a price crash on current 939 dual core or

b) overclock my 3700 (although my mobo isn't the best for overclocking- Asrock 939 dual sata)

:confused:
