Asus DirectCUII $419http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=193_1387&products_id=20212

These are my choices. The cheapest here is the galaxy 670, which is overclocked as they all are but seems to me to be a reference card. Asus's one i listed is the only one thats not overclocked though.

update: added prices

Not on your current list, but my Evga 670 FTW is a beast of a card...have a look at them

The key is cooling, keep em below 70 degrees and they will clock like crazy, at least the premium ones

Get the EVGA 670 FTW. I have one. its awesome, and has a lifetime warranty.

Don't worry about overclocked. Get a non-reference design if it's within $30 of the cheapest reference design, otherwise just go with the cheapest option.

That being said, the reference coolers on the 670 are pretty quiet. I don't hear mine when I'm gaming, and when it's idle it's dead quiet. Plus, my reference Galaxy 670 hit +150 MHz boost on stock voltage and +10% power target, which is pretty good.

The GTX 670 FTW is based on the 680 PCB and will run cooler on top you get the factory OC which are quite impressive out the door. I would highly recommend the FTW model.

" Galaxy has once again taken every opportunity to enhance performance in the specially engineered redesign of the GTX 670 GC, which features the same high-end custom PCB and dual-fan cooler found in the Galaxy GTX 680 GC. The latest advances in PCB design make possible a factory overclock to over 1 GHz, and the high efficiency cooler keeps the card running at low temps with whisper-quiet operation. "

I still like this one better :)

The Gigabyte GTX 670 WindForce 3's PCB is the 680 PCB with all five power phases installed, instead of only four like the normal PCB has. Its cooler is top-notch at cooling and extremely quiet. I wholeheartedy recommend it.

Get the EVGA 670 FTW if you have a case like the RV-02 or FT-02, where your motherboard is rotated. You need reference style blower fans to blow exhaust air out the top of the case. The WindForce works better in a traditional case.

I forgot to mention that im going for value, and want something cheap, as cheap as a 670 gets. Because earlier i was thinking of getting 660ti but then changed my mind and decided just to up it a little. not sure yet. Reference vs non-reference, if i could get a non-ref and maybe OC'd card for same money as a ref card then that would be good i think but which brand? I know galaxy is well liked here but i can only get their reference design which im partial to because its on of the cheapest on the market. Can someone explain why galaxy's overclocked "GC" card is using reference design which also has the same name as the one with non-ref design. its confusing.

here see the difference:

one of these is well reviewed but i cant find info on the other.

I just sold a gtx 670 4g on ebay for 365.4gb go for 330ish-380ish on YouTube. 2gb cards go even cheaper. Unless you have something against used....you won't find better deal then ebay

I just picked up a MSI Twin Frozr IV and I'm happy with it. 27c idle average (26-28c) and 58c average on load. Hard to beat! And it is clocked 100mhz higher than reference and the boost is listed at 1079mhz but lots of people are getting near 1200mhz. I don't OC on my own (nor do I need to), but I've seen people hit 1300mhz no issues.

If these are available in Australia I'd look into them: Dual fans etc., plus there is a Galaxy Rep on [H].

Definitely a great choice all around as far as the actual card goes, but if you're Australian I'd honestly recommend the Australian store for it despite the price difference. I've seen that Australian customers can buy from our Amazon store in North America, but I just want to make sure you know that would get the North American warranty if you buy from there. I generally recommend buying cards from stores based in your home region (North America, Europe, Asia, etc.), because having a warranty from another region does complicate things a bit should you ever need an RMA in the future. You'd technically be covered, but you'd have to use a package forward service and the like since the North American RMA facility can't ship overseas.

That being said, that deal on our GTX 670 GC at pccasegear.com is not bad at all, and it should include the appropriate warranty.

one of these is well reviewed but i cant find info on the other.

The first card has a reference design cooler (one fan) the other has a non-reference design fan ( two fans) and that card will run cooler and quieter than the first.

Of the two, the two fan design is a better card, IMO. As I read through the descriptions of each card, it seems to me these are the major differences:

The dual fan Galaxy 670 GC has this:
Custom dual-fan cooling
Quad nickel-plated heatpipes
Special fan blade design minimizes noise
Aluminum cover with LED effects

Did I miss anything?

Those are the big points. The other little extras in the custom design are explained pretty well in the review:

^ +1 This.. I have a 660 TI FTW Signature 2. and manage to get Clocked even higher than the factory core overclock 1046 boost 1125 reaching 1254Core clock stock being untouched.. so manually can be even more overclocked try to find the 670FTW Signature 2

i cant have the custom design, only galaxy avaliable is the reference one which is also overclocked. the FTW ($479) is over my budget. Its between galaxy, gigabyte and gainward.

I think im gonna go with the galaxy, its custom in a way since it uses the 680 pcb its just has normal cooling.

yeah the asus looks awesome, but the price of galaxy is too tempting so shall get that. Im not gonna overclock it, hope the factory overclock is stable. thanks for all the help, one small question though, is it better to have the graphic card on the top pci-e or the bottom near the PSU?

Can't speak for the ASUS, but our GTX 670 GC and the other cards using this same cooler are without a doubt the quietest GTX series cards I've ever used. I almost thought my sound meter was broken when I first tested because the fan was quieter than the meter could read. The lab guys recorded 32dB under max load, 24dB idle.

Get a review sample out to SPCR.

Agreed. I am considering the Asus significantly based on SPCR's measurements. Get a good acoustics review and I will consider your card
