Which is the best file system to use for a 3TB array in one single 3TB partition?

Best for linux? JFS? XFS?

For Windows XP would NTFS allow a 3TB partition?

How do you guys have yours set up?

NTFS can do it if you convert to Dynamic Disks. A 'normal' NTFS partition can only do 2Tb.

Under Linux I use XFS because it is designed to scale. I know that XFS will have no issue surpassing 2TB.

The XFS entry on Wikiedia said:
XFS is a 64-bit journaling file system with guaranteed file system consistency. It supports a maximum file system size of 9 exabytes, though this is subject to block limits imposed by the host operating system. On 32-bit Linux systems, this limits the file and file system sizes to 16 terabytes.

Just make sure you have a UPS backup on the file server. Last I understood XFS doesn't handle unexpected shutdowns well.

/agree

XFS aggressively uses caching so don't do it on an unreliable system.
