I voted for the PS4. I don't know how old most of you are, but I remember a time when a game console, simply played games. All I want is a game console to play games. I don't need it to do anything else. Can I just have one of these please?!?!?

I can't see myself switching to watching TV in the middle of a game.

Wii is a game console first, media second

The Xbox One reveal did more to advertise the PS4 than the actual PS4 reveal did.

^ isn't that the truth

109 PS4 vs. 22 Xbox One? Ouch.

x2 that really surprises me alot, especially with Sony going after enthusiast jailbreakers with their attack dog lawyers just a few short years ago (which a lot of people on this forum were really outspoken about). Considering the majority of this forum uses Windows and other MS products, the poll results are quite astonishing actually.

I was tempted, once upon a time to switch to XBOX.

After three xbox 360s and terrible customer support, never again.

PS4 all the way, The things that the Xbox One does just doesn't interest me. I just want to game.

Shouldn't be surprising that a company doesn't want their machines being used for copyright infringement, and shouldn't be surprising that a forum for [H]ardcore gamers isn't too thrilled about the limitations, and the ridiculous requirements and DRM that a home videogame console will bring to the table. Not to mention the huge invasion of privacy and risk inherent it brings.

Just give us the god damn games with the latest tech. That's all anyone cares about. Everything else is just all bullshit. Console is worthless if you can't play good games without sacrificing too much for that privilege.

Actually, after seeing the Xbox/PS4 reveals, I'm more interested in the Wii U now. I just want to play games. I wish Nintendo would release some Zelda/Mario/Smash Bros/Metroid style games. The classics.

The PS4/XBO look nice, but I might hold off a bit. Of those two, I'm leaning more to the XB, though. Absolutely no other reason than brand loyalty. The XB1 (first Xbox?) treated me well, the 360 did a wonderful job through the years, and I feel that the One would be a good successor.

Save your money. I bought one at launch and thought it was great. ZombieU, Mario Bros and Scribblenauts were awesome but after beating them I haven't touched my WiiU since December. There are not many games out for it and barely any exclusives.

Man just look at that memory IO bandwidth. I don't even haft to be a game programmer to know which is going to be easier to develop for. Someone forgot to tell MS that the "casual" / motion control crowd isn't buying consoles anymore, the disappointing Wii U sales testify to that.

Course we still have yet to hear what the price of each is, which could sway a lot of decisions.

PS4. Xbox one had nothing going for me. Same old, same old with them.

I think there might be some over reaction here tbh. Microsoft demonstrated the new features they are working on the same way Sony did. They still have lots of games coming to their platform (15 exclusives 8 of which are new IPs) + third party support all within 8 months of release per their statement.

I'll repost a new thread after E3 because I can almost bet money on the numbers being something like:

Playstation 4: 49%
Xbox One: 47%
Wii U: 4%

I am very much interested in the Xbox One because it could replace my HTPC without the hassle for wife factor and skype integration. Though the GPU has me somewhat concerned, along with overall price from owning both platforms if both are day one purchases.

I love Sony exclusives, I was a PS3 fan this generation and almost never played my 360 unless it was Halo, Gears or multiplatform titles.

How many of those 15 exclusives are actually good, and how many are casual/kinnect crap ?

Probably half or more I would imagine, but the point I guess of my statement is that the gaming part of their platform is still there. All they did was add a lot of other functionality to the system.

Would it have been well received if all they did was show the box, hardware and games? (Basically just leave out the DVR/Guide/Kinect2.0 stuff) Leaving out all mention of the other stuff yet still ship with those features availible for consumers?

Damn, apparently the Xbox One does not do actual TV DVR, just game DVR... that's disappointing.
