I was impressed with the Xbox One's DVR and media center stuff but something tells me the hardware will be weaker than the PS4.

EDIT: Wii U obviously
EDIT2: Wow spelling FTL in the title there, omg.

Right now, none of them. I'll probably end up with all of them at some point, but I've never been less excited for new consoles before.

Will buy a Ps4 at some point for Naughty Dog and Sony Santa Monica.

Everything else will be further dedicated towards my Steam library and a "future graphics card" fund in the foreseeable future.

I'm going to try and stay out of it, at least for the frist year-or-two, but even with sony fucking up the software (which they no doubt will do) I'm closer to getting a PS4 than XBox.

I'll buy both.

I'll have the money , I don't sell my games used hardly ever.

As long as Always Online isn't a requirement then I don't care.

It's tough for me to answer, with E3 still a few weeks away. Sony showed off quite a few games, but not much about the hardware and what else it'll do. Microsoft showed off the hardware, and all the stuff (beyond gaming) it'll do, but they haven't shown off the games. They mentioned they, themselves, will have 15 exclusives in the first year, with 8 new IPs, but with the exception of Forza they didn't show any of them.

They're gaming consoles, so it was disappointing to see Microsoft only show a little bit of the games today, but I am interested in some of the non-gaming aspects of the system. I guess I'll have to wait and see what they have, when it comes to games, at E3.

I think the success of next-gen consoles being revealed now will be one thing: games. Hardware manufacturers are switching to X86 architecture, and the consoles will be incredibly similar spec-wise, but the software support will be key. I truely think the PS4 will reign supreme with this generation IF they can hit that sweet price point.

PS4. I was going to finally give Xbox another chance, but after today.. I'm not so sure. Also, E3 better be amazing for them because I am one customer that won't be purchasing if all I hear about is garbage Kinect (which I own), and "entertainment center" garbage.

PS4. When my PS3 was on, it was used for gaming 95% of the time, watching movies 5%. None of the other nongaming stuff Xbox offers is important to me. All I want is a good controller, relatively powerful hardware, and many quality games with as wide of variety as possible. I wish Nintendo would go third party. Love their games but the hw has been dubious the last couple gens. And of course their third party support is bad which is another negative. I think MS might tie Sony in NA, but I think MS will lose every other region. I don't know if the TV stuff will fly in Europe and Xbox One is sure to bomb in Japan.

i just wish i could sync up the wii u's gamepad to my ps3 so i can achieve monitorless gaming :)

I want a gaming system not a entertainment box. So PS4 is obvious. Hell i don't even like the Wii U and i'll take it over the new Xbox.

PS4 is looking like a day 1 purchase. There are a few things about Xbox One that really dont sit right with me but I'm going to wait to pass judgement till I see more.

But right now, PS4/PC looks to be my "next-gen" gaming setup.

PS4 for now. I'll probably re-evaluate once they're all on the market, but I like what I'm hearing about the PS4.

Never had plans to buy Xbox or wii. Have always got playstations but once I started pc gaming about a year ago I literally have not touched ps3 since then. I'm gonna try and wait for a price drop, but ill buy it this year if they have enough games worth playing.

and people are saying that the wii u is a failure..... at least you can do the following for free on thw Wii U

play multi-player
chat
stream
sell your games without any additional fees
play previous gen titles

good luck ms, you gonna need it

I made the right call dumping Sony and switching to MS for 360. And I will make the right call again by switching back to PS4. I can't stand what MS is doing with used games.

But I will hold off for a while since I got burned with multiple defective consoles last time around.

If Sony didn't mess with used games and didn't add the stupid online requirement to install games, I honestly have no idea how Microsoft can have any hope of competing with Sony next gen, even the most loyal Microsoft fans will feel offended enough with such RETARDED decisions to make the switch to Sony.

PS4 + PC is a winning formula

PC gaming specially will be more awesome than ever since the major consoles finally have similar architecture to PCs now so game ports will be smooth and could possibly use the immense amount of power gaming PCs have to offer these days!

None of the listed consoles interests me. I may consider purchasing one in 3-4 years though once my kid is a little older.

This x1000.

It's too early to say Sony will be the white knight in shining armor. For all we know they'll have the same "CD-key" system (which I'm FINE with BTW, assuming that games are priced accordingly).

Okay, so they won't require you to have the PSEye staring at you all the time probably...

Looking forward to the PS4, however wasn't there a rumor that Microsoft was planning to release a streaming box (same UI as the Xbox one) capable of playing xbox live games but not retails games at a lower price? I mean if this thing hits at 100.00 or so and replaces my roku box and let's me used all the same services that the regular xbox one has (minus running retail games) I think it can be a great set top box without breaking the bank.

After being a longterm xbox fan (I own both 360 and PS3). I think that the PS4 will be pretty damn good this time around versus the Xbox One. I guess it is still too early to say, but I do think that the PS4 will be a good entry over the One, who knows though with that kind of money I could just get a GTX 780 and be done with it and enjoy my PC gaming =P.

I'm guess what you are talking about WAS two different products...but something tells me MS stuck their would-be set top box into the new Xbox and will be skipping different items all together.

Changed my mind. PS4 only this generation (unless they announce that they are doing the same shit as MS which right now they are not so that's good).

The Xbox One has cool features and it'll kill me not to watch the Halo TV show being done by Spielberg but I won't dump some (rumored) $400-500 on a system I'll barely play and can't share games with my friends with.

Its funny that they are pretending the social aspect of the Xbox One is so important to them but they are killing off one of the most common activities we all have with friends and that's sharing games. Shit I've saved hundreds if not thousands sharing games. Its pretty greedy what they have planned.

Sony is doing right by us this time , learned its lessons the hard way. Take care of your gamers first (you are selling a video game console after all) then worry about "entertainment" features.

Sad. I didn't think the reveal for the One would be so damn disappointing. I thought it was going to much better than it was. I can't even imagine what they could show at E3 that would convince me to buy One now.

Playstation 4 will get my cash. Not interested in Xbox One as far as kinect being required, not really being able to share games, or the tv bullshit. I cut cable tv long ago so that is basically useless.

I voted for PS4 based on the hard facts currently available about the XBOX.
However, Sony could blow it too. For the moment I will try to CATCH UP ON MY DAMN STEAM SALES GAMES!!!!!!

If you are strictly into gaming then PS4 is a no brainer if you want another box to watch Netflix on the PS4 isstill the better choice its no added charge . I have 4 boxes I can watch Netflix, hulu and a bunch of other streaming services on already. yelling or making stupid gestures at your tv is not appealing to many gamer centric people.

likely the PS4 at or near launch.... xbox 'maybe' down the line somewhere

This. I have just an X360 (no PS3 or PS2). I had an Xbox for that gen as well. Probably making the switch.

I voted for the PS4. I don't know how old most of you are, but I remember a time when a game console, simply played games. All I want is a game console to play games. I don't need it to do anything else. Can I just have one of these please?!?!?

I can't see myself switching to watching TV in the middle of a game.
