Looking at picking up a thinkpad for myself.. what is the best way and or deal to do for puchasing one?

Lenovo's site? Amazon? Third party? Refurbished and or 'scratch and dent' ?!

Looking for a way to get into a better laptop for a bit of a lower price..

Ebay if you want to shop for older models that are still quite good.

Lenovo has an official shop on eBay but also check out their outlet site on the web.

If you don't mind used, Ebay has a lot of off-lease Thinkpads. I recently grabbed a 1 year old Thinkpad Yoga X1 3rd Gen for $700 while refurb from Lenovo with the same specs is over twice that. A lot of these ex-corporate Thinkpads have extended warranty as well.
