Hello,

I recentally saw this:
http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=110244

In which a person aquired a HD5750 512MB version.
I have a similar screen resolution, and I am limited by desk space, so I'm staying at this resolution for quite some time.

I think he/she is from the UK, but are there any USA vendors with the same card?
I could not find any US vendors with this card.

Thank you,
-Jeremy

I asked the exact same question here:
http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1480525

But yea the answer is the same, it only seems to be available in Europe AFAIK. The topic I linked has a pretty good comparison of the 512mb and 1GB 5750, most cases 1GB isn't needed on 5750 and when it is the 5750 can barely keep up anyways!

thank you,

I guess I will have to wait a lither longer for one to show up here in the USA :(

I tried emailing XFX asking them about the 512 MB 5750 in North America but never got a reply. It's been about a week.

I also noticed the 5770 has a 512 MB too but newegg and NCIX only have powercolor again. I didn't realize the 5770 had 512MB versions. Makes it little more interesting when choosing between 1GB 5750 or 512MB 5770 but I would think the 5770 has more situations where 1GB would be useful. However I'm quite convinced that 1GB is a waste on the 5750.

Sapphire is making one. I have ordered it in for a customer. Looked just the same. Heres the specs from my suppliers website.

EDIT: suppose I should add this is in NZ

Thanks for the info polarman5k.

Well look at these comparisons of 1GB to 512MB 5750. I posted them before in another topic I think but here they are again:
http://ht4u.net/reviews/2009/xfx_radeon_hd5750_512mb/ - page 22 1GB to 512mb comparison
http://www.tweakpc.de/hardware/tests/grafikkarten/xfx_ati_radeon_hd_5750_512_mb/s07.php

The second link is simply fantastic for the comparison. You may be right, jeremy. I'm probably too focused on my own personal needs. Getting a bit frustrated about how they're impossible to find in North America!

MSRP of the 5670 vs the 512 5750 makes me feel even better about the 5750, but yea the 5670 is for HTPC (single slot, no power connector)

PURE SPECULATION:
I wonder they're holding it off because the 5670 is so close in price. We may have to wait until a while after the 5670 before they push more 5750 512MB out. I guess it's ok though since I'll get to see the green team although I read somewhere initial launch of GF100 cards has 3 cards only go down as low as GTX 260 which is above this performance/price point. Wonder if that means more rebadging for the others.

Edit: http://www.hardware.info/en-US/news/ymicmZqTwpqacZY/Dual_Fermi_card_to_be_launched_in_April/
There's the link about the initial fermi cards being GTX 260 and 285 replacements.

With the release of the 5670, I took a peak at Newegg's pricing. 5670 1GB ~ 120 and 5670 512MB ~ 100-110 which is awfully close to the 5750 1GB at 137 (lowest I've seen). Hell there's an XFX one for 140 free shipping right. No wonder they're making the 5750 512MB version which was supposed to MSRP at $109 impossible to find in North America.

Bit of a repost of what I made in the 5670 but very relevant to the 5750!

I'll have to check in a couple days when I have more time what pricing is like for the 512MB and 1GB versions of both 5670 and 5750 in countries where the 512MB 5750 are easily found. Or perhaps polarman5k can shed some light.

Yes I'm frustrated as it's the perfect card for my budget as I'm willing to turn things down as needed.
