If I got THIS CPU from TD what would my OC ceiling be with decent air? I have a 250HT limit on my motherboard and the CPU is .13 mircon with SOI, 2.2GHz stock, 1MB or 512 Cache (I can't tell).

Your ceiling is above your head...hopefully.

Well, take the clock speed of that CPU, divide by 200, then multiply by 250. I'm a n00b at everything but I think that if your board can do 250 max, then your CPU's max will be 250 times the max multiplier. This of course assumes that you're actually able to reach 250 on that CPU and you'll need to reach 250 with your RAM unless you use a divider.

From my experience with the 3400+ I got on air 2.45GHz and on phase I got 2.85GHz. Might get 2.5GHz (10*250) with the newer steepings

Thanks, this is just what I was looking for. I am at 2.25GHz on my sempron now so I wll put the cash towards an x800XL instead. Thanks :)

Good idea. That 9700pro has seen better days I know my Ti 4200 has as well. You'd definiitely notice a lot more improvement with your current cpu and a x800xl than the A64+ even at 2.6Ghz with that old 9700pro

Yeah, I feel very confident with my decision now......I just am going to miss my 9700 pro so much :(
