I have to find a good 17 to 19 inch display. Does not need to be 2 or 4K. I can't find anything but left over scrap on ebay. Anyone selling new ones that are worth getting?
Why a small display? I am married and that is what she wants.

There are still tons of 19" 1600x900 LCDs out there:

but if you want 17", you're going to get stuck with closeout 5:4 (still made, but much less selection).

Typical offices have tons of them lying around in storage, if you know anyone who works in a corporate environment.

Can confirm, my workplace has a ton of 1440/1600x900 displays in the sub 20" range. Try to find a local office surplus liquidator in your area to get these for next to nothing

Well "worth getting" is subjective. I hold on to my smaller IPS models for dear life. The high-end smaller models in PVA or IPS were made long ago, as most manufacturers relegate TN panels to their smaller offerings now.

Try looking up "Portable 17 monitor" on Amazon / Ebay. There's been a resurgence of 15" and 17" monitors lately, they're basically a laptop panel in a standalone enclosure, usually USB powered and most have mini-HDMI input (make sure not to end up with one that ONLY does Type-C unless your wife's PC has Thunderbolt or otherwise Alt-Mode capable port). Some of them can are kind of pricey but I get the impression the image quality of the nicer ones can be pretty good.
