hi

I bought a new computer with a SSD disk.
I know I should set something to "AHCI" mode somewhere in the BIOS but I can't find exactly where.
my motherboard is: GA-H77-D3H GIGABYTE GAH77D3H

I'm in an interface called "GIGABYTE - UEFI DualBIOS"
the menu has these sub-menus: "M.I.T" , "System", "BIOS features", "Peripherals", "Power Management", and "Save & Exit"

please help... also is this the right sub-forum?

It should be in "System" or "BIOS features".

It's pretty easy to find... Just go through all the menus and look around.

It's under Peripherals. Didn't the board come with a manual? : http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4141#manual

That will help you locate it with the screenshots

Jonowxeno, using the link you posted, I think I found it under:
"Peripherals" -> "SATA Mode Selection" I see these three options "AHCI", "SATA" and "IDE"
changed it to "AHCI" . it was "IDE" by default.

is this it ?
I got the manual I just don't understand what "SATA Mode Selection" means....I'm not a tech guy....just want to do the right settings for my SSD so I can install win7 on it and have it at optimal speed....

wait a minute, will these settings still be right if I want to hook in a HDD in addition to that SSD?
