I need(want) a SSD for my new Macbook Pro. Since OS X doesn't support TRIM, I am thinking I might save few bucks on the drive. I don't bench or anything, the speed improvement between G1 and G2 probably unnoticeable for my everyday use.

Anyone know where I can get a new G1 X25-M?

P.S. G1 X25-M is very similar to the G2 correct? Meaning it will still have those extra unused NANDs to improve life span, right?

Fry's currently has the G2 40GB for $79.99:

I'm going to assume based on what I read about that deal it's a G2 with trim support, but if you've got to get an 80GB the cheapest I've seen is probably this one:

http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name...M-80GB-Mainstream-SATA-Solid-State-Drive&c=CJ

for $209.99. The issue with the Fry's drive is they don't offer any information on their website - it's an in-store deal only as far as I can find out. If you've got a Fry's nearby it's worth considering I suppose.

I did see that deal but thinking 64 is a bit too small and that extra 25% storage would help especially when I want to put a few games along with Windows in it. I looked everywhere and G1 is no where to be found. If it has truly become extinct, I probably would spent more to get a G2 or 128 WD.
