hey guys, I have vista 32bit, and for some reason I have no tools for command prompt. I don't even have ping!

Where can I get these again? I really need it to set up my network...

windows key + r FTW!!!

Or can you get to the command prompt but nothing works?

I think he's saying that his actual shell tools are gone.

Try going to add/remove, I think I had to do that to get telnet on someone's machine at work the other day.

Ok, I really hoped you knew how to get to command prompt. You're problem is rather strange though. I'm curious to see what finally works!

Most likely his path is messed up. The tools should be in %windir%\system32

He should check his path from the command prompt first (echo %path%) and if an entry for c:\windows\system32 isn't included he can add it in Advanced System Settings/Environment Variables, the same way you do it in XP.
