When 802.11n (or next standard) comes out, will there be backwards compatibility?

Example, when G came out it was built with B compatibility. But when the next standard comes out will they have backwards compatibility as well? Theoretically N will just be MIMO G, so my guess is that the support should be there. If so will they only support G, or will they be kind enough to include B in it as well?

My guess is maybe. But a reason not could possibly be regarding better security.

Yes it already does, G and B work fine. MIMO is currently known as "Pre-N"...see the "pre"..because it's not officially ratified yet.
