What's the point of 4k on small screen?

4k on a small screen seems overkill to me & does not make sense to me. How can you tell quality difference of 4k on a 15-17 inch screen? Plus 4k can hinder battery life just overkill.

it depence on distance on you are watching it.
In a 27 inch monitor 4K if you are facing it in less than 1m then it worth it

The effect on battery life is negligible for non-gaming, it's like 5%. Screen size makes a much bigger difference than resolution for battery life.
