What's the latest on AMD's driver issues for the RX 5600 XT and similar models?

The majority of users had success with the february release of drivers fixing most issues (i.e black screen etc). It seems there is a similar frequency of issues between Nvidia and AMD users now

I had random black screens up until the february release.

Defelctions will not answer the OP's question...but sure everything is fine, no one has issue and AMD states no current issues in their drivers /s
Yup, still ignoring what people are actually saying and pushing your own argument. And I did respond to the OP multiple times with questions and responses. I literally said their are some known issues, you keep spouting off that everyone is saying there aren't, but it's not true at all, just in your own mind. I also tried to put it into perspective that it's not all users but still could be a concern. I don't know why you keep putting your own issues into this. Are you just upset that not enough people having issues? People saying they didn't have issues is just proof that it's not happening to everyone, if that doesn't fit your narrative/agenda then that's your issue. You don't have to get mad at people for sharing their actual experiences, but you are obviously upset that not enough people are running into the issues for you.

You literally just qouted someone saying in their experience, they had no problems.... That's amazing how you even post proof that your just making strawman arguments, so thanks for that.

I've had a vanilla 5700 for aproximately 6 months, no drivers issues... it was just used to game and drive an LG OLED tv for gaming. Sold it only because I realize the OLED only worked with Gsync, so I picked up a 2070 super.

I have kids on team red and team green, and they fight. They are like brand D and R in politics, in all things. If one picks a position on something, the other will pick the other just because. And thus, they have become Red and Green with tech choices. I "jokingly" actually call them that when they get too "/r/vendor" in the house. I'd use index numbers instead of colors to refer to them, but calling a kid into sci-fi "Number One" actually makes them stand straighter, and occasionally yell Red Alert for no reason. And chase chicks with wrinkly foreheads. Also, calling the other Number Two makes the little ones giggle uncontrollably.
But I digress.

There was That Phase where Red had real problems and was pissed. Green of course loved this, pointed it out daily. It was not a fun ride for Red.

But things have evened out, and they're back to throwing literal punches instead of figurative. I take this to mean neither has any real issue in the tech world for their current games.

YMMV.

Seems like Afterburner was causing most of the problems.

Since I uninstalled it, the black screens have went away, and games seem more stable.

However, I did have one crash/lock-up and had to restart manually. So it's not perfect, but not the end of the world either.

Well i had two crashes in Death stranding yesterday.. while running at 1440p120 DLSS on my oled on my 2080... with full reboot needed.. nothing is overclocked..
the problem seemed to vanish after i set it to 4k60 DLSS - so mayby just mayby my DLSS cores gets overworked when trying to DLSS 120 fps.. who knows? anyways nVidia drivers are not perfect either... i never had space invaders on my 2080.. but it does act funny from time to time.. looking forward to replacing it with a new card from either camp.. depending on perceived value.

just my 2 cents..

Yes. My experience. Get out of here with your trolling bullshit.

Pot, kettle black.

Not only have you just invalidated YOUR experience, but that was not all you stated:

My experience in a nutshell: what issues?

You are even ignorant about the topic, pretending that there are NO issues...no wonder it took AMD like forever to dig into this topic when it's users acts like this...good job ;)

I have to ask (i might regret it) - what is he supposed to act like if he is not experiencing any problems...?

and what are you doing to get nVidia to fix my death strading problems? it might take nVidia forever to dig into this topic when users act like this..

Start by stop pretemding that there are NO problems...aka welcome to the real world.

And I am going to do NOTHING to assist you in a game I do not play for a company I do not work for?
What are you going to do to assist me with AMS issues on Hyper-V on HPE blades?
(See how that works?)

I knew i would regret it - knowing you as i do... :)

and i know that both nVidia and AMD has driver problems - implying anything else would be pointless.. as is this discussion really.

I never denied AMD nor NVIDIA has driver issues...the denial was done by other people.

My Radeon VII is temperamental. It was fine most of 2019, then had major issues with Warzone across multiple drivers that I eventually gave up on and stopped trying to play the game. It also had the black screen issue from time to time at the start of 2020 which went away but came back recently with a vengeance. I thought I had it solved as it was fine for a few weeks but then it started happening again last night even just in the desktop. Hopefully the July driver fixes it as I haven't tried that yet. Sometimes the system goes black and hard locks, other times it just resets the driver.

I also know a 5700 XT owner that had issues with Warzone as well, and another that might suffer from micro-stutter as he always complains about things not being 'smooth' but I haven't seen his problem with my own eyes.

I was recently having microstutter and horrible mouse input lag in every game with my Radeon VII after a fresh Windows 10 2004 install that I resolved by updating to the latest chipset driver. I believe that the actual fix was the Power Management profile being reset to keep minimum CPU at 99% (I had changed it to 5% right after install so that my 3900X would park more cores when idle). Regardless of the actual cause, the problem vanished after the 7/21 chipset release.

Would the same problem happen with Intel CPU?

From what I understand the Intel chipset drivers are only txt files put into the OS.

I seriously doubt it. I personally believe the issue had to do with the CPU trying to aggressively throttle down cores, and that the AMD chipset driver installs a new power plan which undid my custom settings. Intel chips are no where near as aggressive at throttling themselves down at "idle" so I doubt that if you have this issue, that it would have the same cause.

So I can just use the ultimate perf power plan and not have any trouble with Intel + amd 5700xt without trouble?

In my case, the SYMPTOM was stuttery graphics while the CAUSE was an incorrect CPU setting. If you are having stuttery graphics with your 5700XT on an Intel platform, it is likely to be because of something else entirely different.

If you are having trouble, it would be helpful if you would post your system specs (Hardware and OS Version at the very least), a sample list of the games you are having trouble with, and a detailed description of the problem(s) you are experiencing. I find there are no shortage of people here willing to give an honest hand to an [H]'er in need.

Got it

I still haven't gotten the 5700XT to put in this system, so asking just to gauge the potential trouble I have to deal with (if any)

I reset some PCI Express modes as to be in 4.0 8 x 8x and a look at the RX 5500 XT 8Gb .. The way it makes that old red bus look metal or other surfaces look as you want to touch it is amazing .
