What's causing video playback issues on my network

I have a 2TB western digital mybook live NAS. It has twonky media server built in. I tried to view a video on my laptop through my wireless network and there was some stuttering/lag. I was using windows media player on my laptop. When I viewed the same video on my TV there was no lag. The tv is wired with cat6. The wireless router is a DIR-655.

Is it my router or the NAS causing issues wirelessly?
 
Its mostly impossible to stream videos wirelessly pending the quality. I have the same issues and found this to be the case.
