What's better a GeForce 4 TI-4200 64 MB or a GeForce FX 5700 128 MB or a GeForce FX 5200 128 MB.

I'm thinking of giving my dad my GeFroce 4 TI-4200 and getting a FX 5200 or 5700.

Or should I keep my GeForce 4 and give my pops an FX 5200 or 5700

well the 5700 is prolly better than the 4200 but not the 5200

NEVER EVER EVER EVER GET A 5200. 5200 BAD!

Sorry for the rant, but yes, the 5200 series defines sucky-ass. I think the Ti and 5700 are neck-and-neck as far as performance. But I know the TI overclocks better......so I say stick with your TI and get him the 5700. I could be wrong though.

It's a tuff decision

the TI is DX8.1
the FX is Dx9(barely)

the FX5700 will run better on games with the D3 engine

the FX5700 is a newer core/faster mem

since TI and 5700 perform on pare with DX8.1 games I'd suggest the FX5700 'cause of it supporting DX9 and its better speed in D3 source games

don't get the 5200

Geforce4 MX is basically a Geforce2 Ultra with minor enhancements. STAY AWAY.

Get a Geforce4 4200 or a 9700 pro cheap on the forums.

definantly get either the 5700 or keep the 4200ti. getting a used 9700pro would probably be the best option in that price range though :D.

if the 5700 is an ultra I would def go with that, otherwise the 5700NU and the 4200Ti are on par, i would prob go with the reg 5700 IMO

But why does it "Suck Ass"?

It is a VERY slow card. It's no faster than your TI-4200 (probably slower actually) and the only thing it has going for it is DX9 support...and like someone else said...barely.

I'd suggest either getting a used 9700/9800pro like was suggested (I think some Best Buy's are actually running the 9800xt's on clearence for $149...check hot deals forums) or just keeping your TI-4200 until you can get something much better.
