I'm looking to access my computer remotely and would like some suggestions on what is good software to use. I want to beable to access files that I specify from my computer through a web browser. I don't want to have to install any software on the computer I would be using to access my home computer. So far what I've found is "WWW File Share Pro", "Easy File Sharing Web Server" and "Web Forum Server and FileSharing Server". So far I like the interface of "Easy File Sharing Web Server" but I'm looking to try any software out before I decide which one is the best, then I will buy it. So whatcha got?

if you're trying to keep your tracks covered, the ftp solution is probably the best. but if you're not bound by too many restrictions on the computer you use, creating a vpn connection can make things pretty simple as well. just another option to look at.

I use Tight VNC w\ openssh encryption (in cgywin) myself

but actually pushing files from the home server to a client still requires an FTP
you can copy and paste text without that and of course reading but transfering files is another ball O wax

thanks ice czar, i'll try this out and see how i like it. Is there any other software where I would install it, specify what i want to be able to access, then from another computer use a web browser and go to my ip (i.e. http://172.0.0.1) then it asks for a username/password before i can access the shared files? That's why I really like the layout of the "Easy File Sharing Web Server", but are there any others?
