Just yesterday I played CoD2 on 2560x1024 on my ghetto dual screen setup (using two CRTs) on my secondary rig. It ran at the lowest settings at a respectable 60fps... when I was facing the ground, otherwise it was a slideshow.

That kind of resolution can be achieved on a single monitor. I've played at 5120 x 1600 (2x30" screen)..

ok, not really. :)

But I have played on 2 x 22" screen which was like 3000 something x 1050...

heh, funny stuff.

i used to play half-life 2 with almost the same system as you a couple years ago... i loved my 9700 pro...

anyway, once i upgraded to a socket 939, i upped my resolution to 1600x1200, been there ever since ;) but its now a much easier with my new system.

P.s. i am an amd fanboy if you didnt notice ;)

1600x1200 and 1680x1050. Playing on two monitors is dumb. The split between them just ruins the game imo.

My laptop does 1900x1200 and I can play Rise of Nations at that resolution with no issues.

My old CRT did 1920x1440, I don't think I had any games that supported that resolution though.

I've tried 1600x1200 in the past on my Sony 20" trinitron, but things in distances are too tiny and straining on the eyes.

So I normally play at 1280x1024.

Now that I have my new Samsung SyncMaster 226BW 22" widescreen, I'm sooooo very happy with it's native 1680x1050 resolution. It's a beaut! Flawless in most games on the 8800 GTS 640mb too!

1680x1050 on ym 20" viewsonic, its a huge upgrade form my old dell 17" crt and looks very good, its now my perfect resolution lol.

I am sticking with 1680x for a while. That way I can slow down my graphics card updates.

When graphics cards can push 1680x like they are running 1024x, I'll move up to 1920x.

1600x1200 on my old CRT and 1680x1050 on my new widescreen

i think when i had my old CRT i went up to a 4:3 res higher than 16x12. now that i've got this LCD it's always 1680x1050 or 1280x768.

It's just split in half, and it was just for fun goddammit.

i want to get me a Matrox Triple head2 go :D then it works out ok you should see the screen shots of games using that over on widescreen gaming

2048x1536, 21" HP 1130

don't use that resolution much cause of the low refresh rate..

2048*1536 on my old Samsung Syncmaster 959NF. I tried HL1 on that resolution but the 60Hz refresh rate was killing my eyes.

A single 2007WFP: 1680x1050. I prefer a moderate resolution with lots of AA/AF.

I prefer high resolution and as much AA or AF as I can get away with and have smooth gameplay. The main reason is because I enjoy the larger monitor. Once you go 30" you never go back.

Let's think here:

2x eVGA 8800GTX (SLi)
versus
Sapphire X1950Pro

:p

I gotta deal with 60Hz all the time, It's all my monitor can handle, That and 1024x768.
Someone rescue from this HP 15" CRT :(
