What videocard do you run to play HL2?

A GF4 Ti4200.
1024x768 max detail except shadows, No AA or AF.
Could be worse.

4600, 2400 at 2.17 512 of 2700 everything at medium models at high 8/6 and 4x aa smooth frames no stuttering

MY sisters ATI RADeon 9800 128 have problems with her HL 2 but my ASUS GeForce 6800 ULTRA is awesome and np at all.

Im running it on the system that is in my sig. it runs it perfectly fine with all settings on high.

9800 Pro 128MB
1152x864 I play with 2XAA and 8XAF, but this screenie is with 4XAA and 16XAF (still runs great) ;)
EDIT: The jaggies on the trees are from additive textures.

9600xt 256meg with overdrive enabled, Plays great at 1280x1024 settings maxed without af/aa.

Ti4200 128mb

No problems whatsoever. The only slow downs or choppiness I get is when a new level loads.

Looks good to me.

haha i was reading ur first rig and i was like o hell naw :)

6800GT at stock. Just played and beat the game at 1600x1200 4xAA 16xAF. Only time the frames dipped a tad low were in the early hoverboat levels and that was only briefly. Seamed more like a driver issue then hardware. I'm sure Nvidia will release a new set that brings up performence in that area, as everhwere else the game ran silky smooth.

You along with other 9800pro owners, what settings are you running at? I need some recommendations before I start playing HL2 tomorrow!

chaintech 6800gt. Runs great getting some freezes here and ther runing 1152x 864. Dono why my monitor runs like that. 4x aa 8xaf on. get in the 100+'s while walking around and 60's to 70's during battles or overviews of the city. Or if there's alot going on. lol

ATI 9800XT runs great and smooth and makes me puke(kinda dizzy after an hour of play stupid stupid boat part)... And Doom3 although I love the game(have it in my closet) HL2 is better... just runs smooth and oooohhh the babes in that game.... :D :D

3.0E Intel
786 PC3200 Ram
Ti4200 8X

I run it at 1024x786 on everything on high without AA or VSYNC on and it runs 40-60 FPS

In other words yes it will run it :D

x800xtpe 1600x1200 6aa 8af everything high, reflect all. no problems :D

My X800XTPE of course, also 5900nu (15yr son's comp), and 9800pro (11yr old son's comp).

Radeon 9800pro 256mb(first run, no mod to XT for me):(

I'm running 1280x1024 with 2xAA and 8xAF on a Barton 2500@3200. It actually runs pretty good. There's some stuttering at some points, but it never slows down, just like when I walk outside from a building, it hitches for just a second, then everything's fine, and it doesn't even do that very much.

I'm very impressed with how the game runs. This is all using the 4.12 beta drivers.

PNY Geforce 6800GT @ 1600x1200 W/4xAA and 8xAF. Runs pretty smooth.

I'm currently stuck with an old monitor that maxes out at 1024x768(with a decent refresh rate) so my BFG 6800 oc can pump pretty much everything up ok

radeon 9800 pro 128
amd 2500+
512 mb Crucial ram
asus A7n8x deluxe

its an older system, but it still runs great at 1024x768 with everything jacked

Geforce FX 5600 - Generally I think my cpu is causing some of the problems, but water effects hit hard as well - I'm getting 20-40 fps or so in regular HL2, and sometimes higher in CSS, except for in aztec. All of the levels from HL2 and CSS suffer from the stuttering problem, but of course that's a source engine problem that will hopefully be fixed soon (wasn't that supposed to be fixed today?)

I have a 9800pro 128mb. I was thinking of running 1024x768 with everything up. How will it do?

if its the 256 bit version, it will do quite well.

System below w/ a 9800 Pro at stock clocks.

I can run at 1280x1024 with 4x AA without any problems at all.
