What the heck is going on with my ram?

hey guys, just bought 2 RIMMS from someone to upgrade my system. I previously had 2 x 256 meg modules, I now have 4. All of the ram is pc1066. When i first booted up, windows saw 1024 megs of ram, but sisift sandra reported it as running at 800mhz. I rebooted and changed the ram fsb multiplier in the bios from auto to 4x to force it to pc106 mode in case it was reading the new memory rating worng or something, and loaded windows. this time, windows saw 768 megs of ram running at 1066mhz. When i rebooted again, it saw 832 megs (sisoft reported the banks as containing 256, 256, 256, 64). The next time I rebooted i was back to 768. Any ideas what's going on? I have 2 old samsung rimms in bank 1 and 2 new OCZ rimms in bank 2. my board is an asus p4t533-c.
Any ideas what the heck is going on?
