What Mouse and Keyboard Are You Using Right Now?

After infuriatingly loud clicks with modern mechanical keyboards, I've switched back to the nice, quiet Saitek Eclipse II. Razer Deathadder 2012 mouse.
Hmm... I had one of those Saitek keyboards years ago... I didn't remember it being particullary quiet, have you tried some of the "silent" mechanical switches.. Even something like Silent reds? I built a GMK67 w/ Outemu Silent Lime V2 switches and it is very very quite typing on it.

Have been using my model f 77 at work after using it at home for a little while and even though I only am in the office 3 days a week the finish is already wearing off. Keep in mind this thing shipped to me in may last year, maybe the industrial grey colour just sucks.
Took an updated picture of the wear on this thing, now have some for the right thumb too. Keys still look brand new though which is nice.

That stinks.

Is it an original vintage one, or one of the modern reproductions?

Do you have particularly abrasive cuffs?
It's one of the new ones from the model f store and no I don't think so, I play guitar and don't have issues with strings wearing down quickly and I don't wear long sleeves.

It may just be a defective coating on mine, hard to say since I haven't talked to the person that runs it but is interesting to document at least. I think the newer ones with the model-m style case use a different finish.

Well I am using my Legion M600 config'd for Left hand or my Elecom left trackball and as always my trusty Filco MT2 TKL mx-red keyboard.

That is a bummer. I had casually been considering ordering one of their products (though I was leaning beam spring), but after seeing this, I am not so sure. I don't want to spend $300 on a keyboard if it is going to wear out and look like shit in no time.

Are you planning on reaching out to them?

Edit:

Per this Q&A question it looks like they have transitioned all keyboards to a new powder coated aluminum chassis. Maybe that was because of issues like this? If they don't stand by it, I wonder if you can at least order a replacement chassis.

Just bought a black Logitech G502 X Plus. Picked it up for $79 at Best Buy.
Still using a Logitech G815 Keyboard with a Corsair iCue Nexus Touchscreen sitting on it for PC stats.

Replaced my Naga Epic with a newer Chroma after using the former for a decade or more. Thumb grid layout was better on the original and like models but button presses are nicer with the newer one.

Mistel BAROCCO MD770 Split (in black).
Elcom Huge.
Both attached to a IOGear Nexus 3-port KVM, which is grossly overpriced for what it is, but decent 3 port KVM's are annoying difficult to find.

I don't really care too much about it TBH and most likely all of the F77 style ones are coated the same way since they're discontinued / clearing stock on them. I imagine the Model M style case ones are fine if they have been updated like you mentioned.

Currently using me Thinkpad X13 G2 w/ trackpoint. If I am honest I have never loved typing on laptops and I wish this one had the keyboard of yore like on a X61 or whatever.. but of more modern laptop options the Thinkpad is probably among the better options I suppose.

Cherry Stream XT and Logitech MX518. I've used scissor switches for a long time now and feel like it's an inferior experience whenever I have to use something else.

My Filco MT2 TKL after teardown to clean board thoroughly. I absolutley still love this keyboard and after using my GMK67 for a couple days while finding time to deep clean the filco... I much prefer my 10yr old Filco to the GMK67, Filco's for sure now and probably a decade ago when I bought this one are a bit over priced.. but man they are nice prebuilt keyboards.. just bomb proof..

I've been switching between the Corsair K100, Corsair K70 RGB Pro and the Corsair K70 PRO TKL with MGX Hyperdrive switches (magnetic). I keep coming back to the K100.

I believe Filco was the OEM on a couple Rosewill boards I got long ago. A brother still uses one as their main KB and I use the other for my CRT setup, rock solid basic keyboards.

Costar is the OEM for Filco, and was for the Rosewill RK9000 keyboards (I have one)... As well as the origional CoolerMaster mechanical keyboards.. and a number of other brands, many of whom have switched to China OEM providers at this point.. but whatever. For myself the Made in Taiwan origin of my Filco and RK9000 was something of a selling point, as I have had good luck with products made in Taiwan in general.

There is some quality variances as Costar will basically build to the level the customer (Filco..etc) request. But they were all pretty solid boards. Here is my RK900, I got this one on some weird newegg combo deal a Pentium D (YAY? which was old and quite **** at the time even) and this keyboard for $24.99, never used the CPU and I have no idea what even happened to it? oh well not been missing it really.

Corsair K95 Platinum with MX Cherry Browns, M65 and Harpoon on one rig.

Razer Deathstalker V2 Pro TKL, Basilisk Hyperspeed all in white on the 2nd rig.

Personal rig is a Spectre Pro with lubed Akko Wine Red switches and a trusty Logitech G500 (switches replaced with Japanese OMRON D2F-01F).
Work rig is an EVGA Z15 with Gateron KS-9 Pro Yellow 2.0 switches and a Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed

I'm using a NiZ Micro82 EC-USB 35g keyboard (Electrostatic Capacitative switches) + a Logitech G305.

Love the keyboard, since the switches are light and quiet, but not spongy/etc. Will one day upgrade the mouse, but it's a great value for what I want (long battery life, relatively light, good-enough performance).

Pardon the bad lighting & dust in the photo.

Razer Ornata TKL v3 but going to get a Logitech 515 tkl low profile keys . I couldn't care less about Keyboards really I game with a controller but Pantheon Rise of the Fallen doesn't have controller support so I'm back into them. I'm using a Deathadder but might switch back to my Logitech Chaos spectrum for mmos.

New keyboard time.

The new yet unreleased Ducky One X with Cherry's new MX Multipoint Inductive switches

I like it better than the One 3 Pro Nazca Line and that was my fav keyboard up to now.

It's tri-mode connection, inductive switches are low power so charges should last longer, web browser based software which is cool too.

That's a nice clean looking keyboard. I like it.

I have no idea about the inductive switches though. I haven't been keeping my ear to the ground, so I know nothing about them.

The Logitech G 515 is nice never used double key caps before in low profile design. Feels like chalk with every press low profile browns. I picked up another today for a backup. The lighting isn't as good as Corsair or Logitech but for 45.00 I'm not complaining regular price is 80.00-100.00 I wish more keyboards would have front standoffs so you could elevate the front.

I made some major updates to my desk lately.... I was running a Corsair k70 mk.2 low profile and Corsair Glaive, both chorded. I finally decided to try something different... I got a wireless Asus ROG Keris Aimpoint for my laptop and was so impressed by it I decided to get the Asus ROG Gladius III for my gaming setup... I really love it too... fits in the hand so nicely with my claw grip, you definitely need to apply the grip stickers otherwise way slippery... and wow these new wireless mice have zero lag - you'd never know it was wireless, on my 240hz desktop I can't tell the difference between wired and wireless... the battery on these ROG mice is insane... I went for a whole 4 day trip with my laptop and it was only down to 70% with regular use..

I was looking for a matching ROG keyboard too but didn't really like any of them, so in my search I came across the GravaStar Mercury K1 lite...

https://www.gravastar.com/products/mercury-k1-lite-transparent-black

...and rolled the dice on it thinking I would probably send it back ... but wow I love this thing... it looks cool as shit and the keys are so so nice.. switches are so satisfying to type on... it's wireless but I am running it in wired mode.. It's taking a little bit to get used to the 75% form factor but after two days of use I feel very comfortable typing on it.. it doesn't have a volume knob on it so I got a usb knob that I thought looked kind cool (JUXINICE CP090) and goes with the whole setup fairly well...

Anyways pretty happy with the new perifs... It's been years since I switched things up. I tried the GravaStar M2 mouse also but it's just too small for me, so using it for an extra travel mouse.. it looks cool and tracks well.. just too small for regular use for me but a decent backup.

That's one funky keyboard!! (y)

yeah.... it reminds me a little of my old 80 key Deck kb... but this is way nicer to type on.. so glad they put the ins, page up and page down on the right side there... it's pretty well thought out.

EDIT: please excuse damn cat hair ... need to vacuum my desk again.

I have the Q6 Max and love it, time to send an email and get the HE to check that out!

I also have the Wooting two HE and the Ducky One X, both all effect. They are nice but have their drawbacks (software related), so will be interesting to see how Keychron have tackled the same quirks.

I think every keyboard I have in the house is a Logitech G413 TKL now. I have about 3 of them. I really like them. Very basic but functional, and they don't break the bank. The TKL form factor allows for better hand placement without sacrificing the home/end/etc keys. I use the number row when typing numbers anyway, so the number pad never did anything of value. The function keys are usable. Some issues but I like them.

10 year old Rosewill RK9000 keyboard (still finding MOBOs with PS2 ports for nkey rollover) and equally as old Logitech chord gaming g9 or whatever gaming mouse. Both are still solid after 10 years.

Many of us change input devices on a regular basis, but many of us also use the same ones for years.

This thread is an opportunity for us to share what we're using right this second as well as maybe why, etc.

So post what you're using. (y)
I love my Linear keyboards. I actually want it to feel as much like an HP NW8000 as I can because of how long I had that machine for. Mice.... I'm picky.

At this point I am using a Razer Huntsman Mini with Red switches. I need to swap a few switched out, and past that, I actually want to get purple housings for the switches themselves. But I don't know if I can swap the shaft like that or if the bump is in the plastic on the purples. I have purple caps in a gradient, dual shot.

My mouse is significant because I have arthritis. Right now I go between an Elecom MDT2DR and a Logi M720 that I have modified to be as close as possible to the G700s. The only thing I don't have is the thumb shelf.
