well my question is, what type of memory (pins and speed) the macbookpro accept? so I can update the memory and not pay $500 to apple hehe. any links on how to change the memory?

thanks

People will tell you to only buy Crucial, or Corsair, or whatever, or it won't work. These people are clueless. I bought Kingmax for my Macs, because it was the cheapest at the time. I've only ever suffered one kernel panic since the 10.2 days, and that was because of a software malfunction I caused myself... The idea that Macs are more finnicky about memory than other computers is largely bullshit.

And as bahula said, it's PC5300 DDR2 SO-DIMMs (damned acronyms).

I bought Patriot from Monarch and it has largely worked just fine (it was the cheapest at the time). I did the 2GB upgrade for both my macbook pro and 17" intel imac.
