I think it was legend of Zelda because I didn't have a book over even know where the hell I was going. I think it was 20 hours and fell asleep with the controller in my hands.

Anyone ever go over 24 hours?

Ahh the find memories of true gaming..mine was back when I was a teeny weeny playing starsiege tribes. I just got into computers so it was all so cool. I remember playing from 4pm to 6am lol I was in a clan, fun times miss the real pc gaming scene..

Battletoads was wicked. How long did it take you to beat the part when your in that rocket thing?

Ahh Battletoads... the rocket jetskis and the level you drop down a well hanging from a vine are all I remember about that game. I seem to remember that vine level in co-op being even harder because we always wound up punching each other.

I think I played Golden Eye on n64 for close to 24 hours when I was way younger, haven't came close to that ever since though

I remember when I stayed up all night waiting for the new SimCity to come out -- finally got released, I played for maybe 2 hours then fell asleep. I never got to play again after that.

hah - seriously though -- ummm I remember late night sessions of DOOM II on my packard bell 66mhz machine. I remember plaing RC Pro Am uber late on the original NES with friends at sleepovers.

Just a few months ago my buddy, his wife, and my other friend stayed up till like 5 or 6am playing C&C Generals over LAN.

Being 32 years old though -- it's hard as hell to do any gaming like that on a regular basis.

I remember spending close to 12 hours straight playing Fallout 2 when it first came out.

I think I came close to playing D2 for 12 hours a few times back in the day. I wish I still had that much time to dedicate to playing games now but sadly I don't.

World of Warcraft for 16 hours about 9 years ago. That's not even too bad considering I knew some WoW players that played for 30+ hours in a single sitting multiple times. Now I don't even have the time or the motivation to play any longer than an hour of any game.

I did plenty of 20+ hour sessions when I was 15-18 or so. But man now that I am 30 I have a hard time staying up for 24 hours straight for any reason. Fucking getting old man.

I think I played RTW for about 16 straight hours one time before realizing I hadn't eaten anything all day. Those far-away cities kept revolting and kept me from getting to 50...

Really young: 8+ hours on the NES Rampage.
Youngish: 12+ hours Empire Earth
Now: too old, and kids

It was pretty common for me to play Battlefield 2 for 12-14 hours straight on the weekends when I was stationed in Korea (Army). I would sit down at my desk in the evening with a full bottle of V8 Smoothie and sip on it until it was empty the next morning or afternoon.

if it comes to it i still do 24~26 hours straight easily. then i go to sleep, wake up all fucked up, eyes burning, crawl into the kitchen, make a coffe, smoke the first cigarette, sit in front of pc and do it all over again. but is rare, aint much games good enough to hook up me that way. ah, and im 32 (gonna be, july)

I played WoW for 38 hours straight when I was in college.
It was on a private server with no raid lockouts, and I was the best geared healer in the server. So I ended up healing a few different raids for my guild.

These days... I can get 1 hour, tops, in any game. Then I gotta take a break.

My best was 9 hours straight on Mass Effect. Could not pull myself away from that game. Did a couple 7 hour stretches on Doom back in the day but the 9 hour ME binge is my personal record.

When Zelda: Ocarina of Time came out I think I played that for almost 12 straight hours. Actually, right when I was getting to the Master Sword part, the game actually froze up and I had to re-play a fair amount of the previous dungeon. Sooo pissed. The cart smelled a little like burnt plastic after that as well, but the game still functions fine to this day.

Also have done several 24 to 40 hour LAN parties in the past, but there were a few hours of sleeping and not all of it was nonstop gaming.

i think a weekend, from friday around 5-6pm to sunday afternoon sometime, Counter Strike Source-a-thon.

Darkness I think your right...the games of today just aren't as good, well planetary annhilation feels like it might be!

the last two games that got me into "insane gaming mode" were far cry 3 and alice madness returns, alice i did 24-26-24 hours straight during three days, it almost killed me :p

ops, correction, three days being the time awake, dont know how much i slept in between or how much days in total counting the sleeping. funny thing is when i game like that, i always got the weirdest dreams, its pretty crazy :p

Probably somewhere around 12 hours or so. I couldn't imagine gaming anymore than that in a day.

My longest was 23 hours. Think it was Doom on a 2400??? baud modem.. ah those were the days.

maybe 12 hours. I can't do the mountain dew fueled 24 hour marathons like some people.

When I was a Kid that Mario RPG came out for the SNES. I convinced my parents to buy me the game Saturday morning. I played it from noon till the next day at noon I went to sleep. I was in the last part of the game.

Now I am lucky if I can get 4 hours in straight without stopping. My 2 daughters, wife and work take my game time away. Cant complaint to much spent 3 hours straight playing Wildstar on Sunday.

In my college days we would play RPG's for long periods of time. Most of the time it would be one dedicated player with the other roommates watching. We'd split the process of grinding levels amongst a few people to save time, though. With FF7, we ended up going straight through the whole thing the first 2 days it was out.

Several times with various games ranging from EQ (1&2), to some of the TW games.

I did a 20ish hour Skyrim session shortly after launch.

Back in college I did a lot of 12+ hour sessions of FFXI with my friends. When I was out of work a couple of years ago I would play ME3 multiplayer or Forza Motorsport 4 all day long (8 hours or more).

I played straight through Uncharted in one sitting, which was about 6 hours. Before that, I think the last time I played through a game in one sitting was Resident Evil 3 on Playstation.

I used to be able to stay awake up to 3 days at a time with no problem. Nowadays I often can't go more than 20 hours :(.

+/- 10hours for LOOM original release finished in one sitting. Amazing game.

Might have been longer, it's been a while...

Pondering this, my off the cuff response would have been EverQuest, as the summer that came out I really no lifed the hell out of it. However, it is come to my attention via third party that I actually sat and played modded Minecraft for a 19 hour session last year, trying to gather materials to build some end all be all power generating facility for an entire server. (screw you, Iridium ore)

I am not sure which I am more sad about, spending 19 hours sitting in a chair playing Minecraft, or not having played any games aside from Jetpack Joyride on my phone since February this year :(

I spent a few weekends on Civ, roughly about 36 hour stretches. I also did a 24 hour stretch or so for Star Control II. Many, many stretches for Starcraft.

On a long weekend when i was still in school i played bf2 for 42 hours. the longest i have played in recent history is probably 12-14 hours but that only happens a few times a year now. instead of a few times a week when i was playing wow.

The single longest session I probably ever had aside from bathroom breaks and maybe a couple minutes to grab food was around 18 hours. Now when Diablo 2 came out I probably played the bulk of 72 hours but did take a couple hours of sleep here and there. The bulk of that three day span was definitely spent playing the game though.

Was about the same for me. Dam time flies!
