Hi,
I have 2 pcs (my teenager boy and the other one for all the rest).
The family pc is B75 , I7-3770, 16GB ram.
My kids pc is H97, I7-4790K, 16GB ram, GTX 1050TI

I was thinking to take the 1050TI to the family pc and buy a newer card for him (2nd hand is an option).

Which do u recommend?

What games & resolution do you play?

For absolute frames per dollar an AMD 570 4gb is solid medium-high settings at 1080p. About $150
If he is streaming, FTC 1650 super has hardware encoding to take the load off the gpu and cpu, $190.

For 1080p high settings, Get a used thx 1070 $200 0r new rtx 2060ko $250

1440p a used used1080ti at $350, used thx 2070 or new AMD 5700, $300.

for $10 difference I'll take the used 1070 (if i can get one)...

Might find a 1080 at $200 as people start finding new cards in stock. I don't think I'd pay more than $150 for a 1070 at this point.

Or the cheapest 1660 super you can find ($230 or less new). RTX doesn't matter on cards of that speed range it's not usable anyway. I've been rocking Star Citizen on my 1660 super on low settings at 1440p for the last couple of days... it's ironic that I'm even trying to play that game after selling my 2080, but a friend of mine really wanted to play it a bit. So I was like, "sure, what the hell let's see what this card can do." The answer was, it can do a LOT if you are reasonable about settings. It also just hammers out Rocket League at 1440p at fully competitive frame rates. It's still without doubt the best bang for buck new card on the market until new gen lower end cards come out. It's going to utterly destroy a 1050 Ti by about 2x.

Yeah, really depends on what kind of limit you have. I've got an RX 570 (8gb) and and RX 580 as well as a second RX 580 on the way (I have 6 desktops, and 4 kids!). Used they can be had around $100-$120 for the kids boxes and can easily play games (not maxed, but plenty playable). That said, if you're willing to spend a bit more (or if you wanted new/used) there are a few other cards that are decent. The rx 580 and 1660 (not super) are both very close in performance. Really a lot of cards in this range will give you about the same level of gameplay though. If you prefer AMD or NVidia, a 570/580 or 1060/1660 is about the range (again, really dependent on budget). Also, with new cards dropping as people have been saying, prices may drop a bit in the coming months. You can already find 5600XT's used in the $220 range and 1070's should be getting there soon.
