firefox, never get pop ups, spy ware and its small and simple to use.. no clutter

Gonna get a buncha replies here....
I ran Firefox a bit last year...though many versions.....but when Opera came out with the clean free version....I went to that..and haven't looked back. I find it faster and more stable.
Tried K Meleon for a bit too...but it's still on the Gecko engine..same as Mozilla.

Actually finding IE 7 very good. It REALLY got fast.

safari - no pop ups (built in blocker), great cookie handling, loads instantaneously, small memory footprint, private browsing (basically keeps no cookies or history or anything from the session, my buddies say its "porn mode")

runners up
shiira
omniweb

Maxthon.

I don't like Firefox, but I like tabbed interface and grouping. Open Maxthon and all the news/forums I like to check frequently pop up all at once in a single managed window.

I also use IE because I like it better than FF, but Maxthon doesn't hog as much memory.

i go firefox becuase of its speed. and i never get spyware. lots of add ons, themes are easy to install.

Firefox/opera/IE would probably be the best out of all of them, in my weak opinion.

IE (when its not bugged up) works all the time, on all the pages. Firefox seems to try its best to melt my cpu when im viewing lots of animated GIFs, retarted web programmers seem to not realize there are other browsers out... so there opera/firefox sometimes dont work well on pages.

Between opera and IE I get by just fine.

My vote is for Opera. Used it while it was pay and even better now that it is free. I beleive they are the ones who started the tabbed browsing plus it doesn't allow activex to run! Gotta love it!

Forgot to mention the cool mouse features in Opera. Go back and forward with the click of the mouse!

I'm a fan of the Firefox web browzer .. I tried Advant(sp?) , Opera .. tho Opera captivated me at first when it went totally free ... I ended up going back to Firefox . I guess I just like all the features and easy extension and theme add-ons ...tabbed browzing , righ clicking and openning pages in IE (when I have too .. ) .. features that other browsers have , but something about Firefox keeps me coming back to it .. maybe it's just because it's the first "alternate" browser that I really tried aside from IE in windows, and now I use it pretty much exsclusively in Linux as well.

I really like Safari on my Mac. On the PC Firefox is good but it is a memory hog even with 2GB I've seen it take easily 800mb. I like Bon Echo which is the beta Firefox 2.0 alpha, they move the location for closing tabs.

Opera, cause it does everything I need without lame extensions.

Opera. Does everything I want and more, and Opera 9 is shaping up to be very great.

However, the one thing that very much annoys me about Opera is the many Ajax Framework (and applications) that do not work under Opera. "Your browser not supported" is very annoying.

Tell Opera to lie and say it is IE. Helps with that most of the time. Gmail is one place that will run benefit from that lie as it runs in basic HTML if it thinks it is using Opera.

Forgot to add my favorite feature from Opera, the Wand. I love the Wand.

I have it set to ID as IE, yet, websites such as http://backbase.com/go/ or opensource AJAX programs such as FCKEditor don't load completly if at all.

Opera, because the tabbed browsing is superior. Also for dial up users the caching for frequently accessed pages makes for a much better dial up experience. Finally, when you press back, you go back no reloading the entire page.

Firefox because of the tabbed browsing and interface. I really think I am going to like IE7 when it comes out of beta. I play with it here and there to try to get used to it, but I do get some weird quirks with it still.

I did try Opera prior to the free version and just didn't "get comfortable" with it. I don't think I gave it a fair chance and might give it a go.

I like FireFox. FF+AdBlock+Filterset.G Updater+ FasterFox = No ads, pop ups, and really fast browsing.

I only use IE when I must. I would try Opera, but I won't have the above extensions. I don't think I can go back to ad-laden browing anymore.

I can't really decide, so I didn't vote yet.
Firefox has some great plugins (adblock, anyone?) and is quite fast in windows. Sort of a hog in FreeBSD, though.
Konqueror is fast, has wonderfully integrated viewers for a lot of formats and can do an a number of neat things. Just got adblock, too.
Opera feels fastest on all platforms, it's small, and some things (the way it guesses the next page for you, so you can move forward into unread pages is fantastic, and the mouse button rocker shortcuts are just about perfect.)

I use firefox in windows and konqueror in FreeBSD, but opera keeps tempting me. We'll have to see.

With the release of Opera 9 just around the corner.....one of the things that seems to be keeping FF users from making the leap is adblocker. Opera 9 will have an even more robust content blocker built in. Currently someone did write a script for 8.5 which is in effect an adblocker....but it's not an easy peasy install.

Opera 9 also has an integrated BitTorrent client...supposed to take away port hassles 'n stuff.

Improved current pop-up blocker

More robust individual site management...customize how your browser integrates with certain oft visited sites

Thumbnail preview...another step from tabs

Widgets...AJAX plugins for Opera.

The second beta release has been out a bit....try it!

Firefox has the nicest interface, and it's hard to beat having customization plugins. I've seen the IE7 beta, and it's gone to that ugly fisher-price look that media player has, and with the buttons scatterd to odd locations.

I love that Firefox supports SVG now, but i wish other browsers supported it better (especially using object instead of embed). I also wish the SVG object could be placed within hyperlink tags instead of having to place the link inside the actual SVG; that would allow me to make some generic link buttons without any crummy server-side-scripting.

A complaint I have for most browsers is the very poor image resizes. I want to make a page that uses em for all sizes and doesn't use px or pt anywhere; that way I can use a simple javascript to make the page display using the same percent of the physical screen reguardless of the resolution. Unfortunatly, Opera is the only browser that can handle resizing bitmaps nicely. Firefox, IE, and Konquoror destroy bitmaps that are not at the actual px size of the image. The "em only" method works wonderfully except for that, and I am tempted to just make the page anyhow and hope the issue is cleared up in the future.

I don't like the default skin of FF or Opera....to "nursery school" looking for me.

In FF I used the "Brushed" skin...with Opera...I use the "Blue Button" skin...similar to what the brushed looks like in FF. A nice lean mean metallic look with very little real estate used up for toolbars.

I actually like the toolbar of IE7 so far...it's very "slim"...hardly takes up any space. I don't like big fat toolbars....I want my real estate used up for the graphics I'm looking at...not toolbars.

I voted other for Safari, I like its handling, tabs and perfect pop-up blocker. Second choice is Opera. I'm playing with that now and I think once I get use to it, it will beat Safari. I like Opera's feature where if you accidentally close a window it opens back to the last page.......then again, that may be a bad thing ;)

This was one of the major reasons why I ended up using Opera (well, that and the mouse gestures). Back when I was on dial-up, Opera made my connection seem faster than it was, more so than IE or the Mozilla suite. I kept thinking to myself that anything that can make dial-up appear faster than it is gets an A+ in my book. Firefox came out a little later but it was too late for me. :D

Also, Opera 9 is going to do nothing short of rock your world. I love using the preview weekly builds. They seem to be gearing up to get a Beta RC out so the devs are doing major bugfixing, it would seem.

ive tryed them all and opera hands down, no questions asked is the best. similar to firefox but i just like it better :D

Firefox, its works, its tabbed browsing, its easy to use, its easy to tweak, and it has many useful and neat features.

Plus, it has the coolest name.

I use Firefox for a few reasons.

1) Sheer speed after doing changes in the about:config.

2) Tabbed Browsing.

3) It's open-source allows for many themes and extensions to be made.

4) I'm able to allow only the cookies I want, for instance forums i visit regularly.

5) Security in general.

6) I personally like the feel.

Though I do have IE an Opera installed for testing webpages.

Agreed, though Last weeks build was very buggy for me. The entire Widget System refused to work. I was a bit disappointed when they shifted the widget system over to something more similar to Mac OS, in that widgets live "outside" Opera. Rendering them (for me personally) utterly useless. I end up having to ask myself, "Why hit a button to see "xyz" widget, when I can just type/click the bookmark just as fast" I preferred it when the Widgets lived along side Opera in normal viewing space. O'well, Opera 9 Beta still rocks.

Opera. It's not a memory hog, does everything I need and more, super lightweight, and the shortcut keys make sense :)

Firefox just because it works, and works well. It's also rather secure and flexible. All round a good browser.

Firefox

Reasons for me
1. Works great, only minor crashing here and there. Still sucks, but very minor.
2. Extensions!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love the extensions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3. Simple, easy, and small installation.
4. No ads.
5. Very compatible with systems, webpages, and etc.
6. Extensions!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love the extensions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
7. Very configurable. Easy to adjust options, but yet geeky enough that it's not a "clickable option" about:config
8. Extensions!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love the extensions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
9. Open source.. same accross operating systems... even extensions work accross OSs, and that is pretty awesome.
10. Tabs... at first I used to hate it, but now I LOVE it dearly

other reasons as welll.... but that is the main ones.
