Hello guys,

What is the best 140 mm fan for silent water cooling ?

1. Be quiet! Pure Wings 2 - 140 - 1600rpm High
2. be quiet! Pure Wings 2 140mm

3. be quiet! Shadow Wings 2 140mm
4. Bundle - 9x Noiseblocker BlackSilentPRO PK3 - 140mm (1700 rpm)

5. Bundle - 9x Noiseblocker NB-eLoop B14-PS Bionic Fan - 140mm PWM (300-1200 rpm)

6. SilenX Effizio - 140 mm - 12 dBa

7. Noctua NF-P14s redux-1200 140x140x25
8. Thermaltake Riing 14 LED RGB (140x140x25mm)

I think Silen Effizio - 140 mm is the best choice or probably Shadow Wings 2...

I have not had experience with anything else on this list, but I can say that the NB eLoop 140s are very quiet with a very pleasant noise profile. I've got nine of them on my MO-RA3 and they are wonderful.

The best probably depends on how the fan blows through your rad and what kind of intake/exhaust you have more than just picking a random fan.

I had a full set of NBEs in my rig but the ones for my exhaust rad (pulling through rad exhausting through rectangle stamped grille) had pretty low airflow, I replaced them with some Arctic P14s and get much more airflow now. I'd tested them before with just the rad and they were fine so I think the grille is the issue but still for the price the P14 is awesome. They are pretty quiet too as well, I tried beQuiet SW3s in my case after noticing this and they were the loudest fans I tried through this grille lol.

I want to put 18 FANs in push/pull configuration for 3 radiators. I think that 300-500 rpms should be fine for under 20 DBa.

If you're intending to run the fans that low RPM you'll need to make sure they actually work at that low of a speed, most don't go that low to be honest.

I have some rosewill hyperborea 140s that are pretty good, but they can buzz/flutter at certain rpms. They're rebranded akasa apache fans, run best around 800-1000rpm, but the range is 400-1400 iirc. At max speed it sounds like a vortex (all wind noise).

Edit: range: 600-1300rpm, 12.5-22.2dBa, 89CFM max.

I went noctua NF-A14 chromax. 300-1500 rpm and only 24db at max. Plus the static pressure is really good. Was comparing these to silent wings 3.
