AMD already has their latest flagship card (HD5800) out but what suprises me most is how fast they will be coming out with their mainstream parts as well, the HD 5700 series.
The rumoured spec of the HD5770 is quite similiar to the HD4890 and if it has anywhere near the performance of the HD 4890 with a lower price, lower power consumption and DX11, I think that nVidia could be in trouble. With GT300 or Fermi or what ever it is called still no where to be seen, I think that their mainstream parts would also be late as well.
I think that nVidia will have no other choice but to lower the price of their current offerings. Even when the GT200 were still competing with the HD 4800, I think that the HD 4800 cards are stil cheaper to produce compared to the GT200 cards. Now that the HD4800 cards will be smaller in form of the HD5700, I think that AMD will have the upper hand if nVidia choose to go to a price war. Do nVidia have any GT200 refresh planned to be released anytime soon?
