What Happens When You Reply To Spam Email

Lmao - fun watch.

I'm done that with telemarketers (after I kept got the same call some six+ times in a week). Keep the fellow on the phone for an hour - he was cut off mid-sentence. I guess I wasn't going to get my magazine subscription that was going to cost something close to $1600.00.

certainly need to use an email address that you don't mind getting spam from lol...

This looks like fun. Maybe its time to setup a new email.

I take the short and direct approach. When recently approached with a Craigslist scam I replied with "sure call me at xxx-xxx-xxxx" which is the local FBI office number then when they're dumb enough to continue I forward the email thread to [email protected], etc. to get the accounts shut down.

This one guy in the 90s was in a love chat room and I pissed him off while he was trying to score online with the chicks. He said Goddamn internet is good for shit.

I just adjust my filter settings and I never see them again. Actually this barely ever happens. I do the same thing with unwanted phone callers.

I used to do this with my yahoo account. From Nigerian Bankers to Slovakian brides to Escort Services.

I made a spam contact list and used to forward spam mail to all of them

I always get them to send a 'money order' to the local FBI office. That way it costs them the stamp. Later when they contact me, I tell them the check cleared, but it wasn't enough, and they need to send more and that I will not refund them. It's hilarious because they all threaten to call the police.

Not your standard TED affair, but pretty brilliant. There are actual humans on the other end of those electronic grammatical nightmares. I imagine there is at least a jolt of conscience on the part of some of them when they finally realize they are being played.
