Is there anything that will be worth it or should I just stick to my setup?

I run my cards overclocked and fans at full blast and it gets loud and hot in my room. Would it be wise to sell the SLI kit and take that money and buy the Sapphire Radeon 4870 x2 to save on noise and heat with better performance?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance guys! :)

I think the 4870 x2 would beat out your SLI configuration, but why not check Tom's Hardware's graphics charts? Quick answer in RW/benchmark testing.

8800gt is not really a card you want to do sli on - from what I hear. 280, 260 with your current mb. that gives you the option to sli later and not have to buy a new mb.

No you can run an ATI card in your board but you cannot run crossfire

Skyehack-

Do you happen to play any games with huge textures like, say, Qarl's Texture Pack III and etc? I was always curious how they fared vs the 512 models in such specialized situations, but all the reviews I've read seem get their benchmarks in more mainstream, commonly-occurring gaming situations.
