The GeForce 8800GTX by far. I bought mine the first week the card became available in November 2006. I kept adding them as SLI support for them grew. Eventually I had three of them in my system when I replaced them with dual 9800GX2's which I got on release day March 2008.
9800 Pro. What a card!
eVGA GTX 260 Core 216 Superclocked 65nm
2008-2010 : 2012-present
In that gap: GTX 480 and GTX 580
My GTX 970 will be here next week
Last demanding games I've played on the 260: Ass Creed II, Outlast, Dark Souls: Titanfall Beta: Trine 2
Same card for me. Its still running in my youngest sons machine.Totally bad ass card, was spanking aquamark, etc at the time.
AMD 3870x2 is the card I have the longest that's still in use. I put an Artic cooler on it when I bought it and it is still been used today for older games. It's in my secondary AMD machine.
The card that I used longest in my main gaming rig was the 4870x2, brought it at launch and kept it until I replaced with a 6950.
And I was just looking through my video card history, I have never kept a Nvidia card longer than a year. The 680 GTX was the longest at just under a year.
The 4870x2 was literally the shortest lived card in my gaming rig. I had tons of problems with it in my D5400XS based system back in the day. I had the card for maybe two weeks.
you were unlucky I guess, my one is still going I am friends with the guy I sold it to.
Its pretty sad, but I dont think I've ever kept a GPU more than a year... I get the upgrade bug to much...
GTX 560TI 448 --> GTX 570 (SLI) --> HD6970 --> HD7970 DC2 --> GTX 680 --> GTX 680 (SLI) -- HD7950 (Xfire) --> GTX 780 (SLI) --> GTX 780 Ti Classy (3 SLI) and an R9 290X Lightning --> GTX 980 and 2 GTX Titans
Kinda scary but my upgrade path looks similar to yours, but less multi-gpu setups and more single gpu upgradesIts pretty sad, but I dont think I've ever kept a GPU more than a year... I get the upgrade bug to much...
GTX 560TI 448 --> GTX 570 (SLI) --> HD6970 --> HD7970 DC2 --> GTX 680 --> GTX 680 (SLI) -- HD7950 (Xfire) --> GTX 780 (SLI) --> GTX 780 Ti Classy (3 SLI) and an R9 290X Lightning --> GTX 980 and 2 GTX Titans
8800 GTX. Used it three years without an upgrade.
