I love BulletProof FTP, I'm running a server under Windows XP Pro with barely any system changes. It's a great program that is pretty cheap and I'm pretty sure has a trial. It's also pretty good on system resources.

i normally use bulletproof for the ease of use. raiden ftpd is great if you want encryption and have time to set up your own certificate. wsftp server will do the same. there are also a lot more out there but i have not used them yet.

used to use G6 (now turned into bulletproof, but it'll always be G6 to me), but now im using Serv-U for the SSL, i don't like serv-u as much as g6, actually its kinda annoying, heh, i should try out raidenftpd one of these days.

Yep, except for the ftp.exe post, all the rest are ftp servers. If you're referring to filezilla, there is also a filezilla ftp server program.

Anyway, I user Serv-U on my server and Cerberus on my laptop for whenever I want to set up a temporary ftp server for use while traveling.

I used to use Xitami as a webserver and used it's built in FTP to update pages that I made on another machine. Then I found it easier to just map a network drive and go from there. ;)
