What are you playing on your deck?

I recently played hl1 & 2, quake 2 & 4, Prey (2006), and I'm on doom 3 currently. Next up I'm thinking soldier of Fortune 1 & 2.
oh wow I hadn't thought about Soldier of Fortune in a long time. Have fun blowing baddies' legs off! :)

I haven't either, but I am excited! I'm about 3/4 of the way done with Doom 3, I'll be disemboweling enemies soon though.

If anyone's curious: Yes, you can play Starsiege: Tribes on the Steam Deck installed through Lutris.

Oh wow, I haven't thought about Tribes in a while! I see that Tribes 3: Rivals was a bit of a flop (I didn't realize that it was released until just looking it up now), but is anyone still playing any of the older games online?

https://playt1.com/ is probably the best way to get an updated version of the game and find other players. It's mostly PUGs now (I was more of a Base PUB guy), and I'm hoping one day the game will get re-released for Steam and the consoles (ala System Shock remake) so the game can get some player numbers back and I can re-live 1998.

Also, since those screenshots I posted, I've used one of those PlayT1 configs and didn't have any texture issues (the game ran perfectly).

You didn't miss much with Tribes 3: Rivals - it was a simplified version of Tribes: Ascend (which was already a simplified version of Tribes). Though that might just be personal bitterness as my beloved Fallen Empire: Legions never found success.

I spent a few hours figuring out how to install soldier of Fortune from cd, and I couldn't get it installed.
Turns out there's a "community version" that exists and works great on the deck. I had to install it on my desktop, then copy/paste the installed game to a USB, then the deck.

There's the link if anyone else wants it, if you do play it, in the settings change the renderer to qfx, otherwise you'll have weird textures.

I'll figure out part 2 when I get to it.

Well I'm not going to play sof ii, it's packed in a box. I started up Skyrim, played for a day, and now it crashes right after Bethesda logo. I've disabled all mods, uninstalled and reinstalled, and it's just not loading anymore. I don't have time to fix it, so, I am playing Duke Nukem 3d.

Nevermind, decided to play stalker soc instead.

Skyrim is one of the games I play the most on my Deck. No mods. No problems.
I'll try it again after I'm done in the zone, I wanted something that's slow paced and I think stalker fits.

Oh man I haven't thought about OG Duke Nukem in a LONG time. Like 100lbs 17" CRT monitor 1990's time. Back in the Red Alert era. Man I miss the 90's, yeah I know I'm old

I've been playing Baldur's Gate 3 on my Ally Z1E (Bazzite OS) and it runs and plays great. I've seen online guides recommending 25w for this game, but I brought it down to 18w (to reduce fan noise) and it still runs 40-60 fps in the early areas.

I'm really impressed how well the gamepad controls work for this game too. I picked it up on PC over the PS5 Pro specifically for the KBM controls, but find myself using a gamepad more than I thought I would.
