What are you nerds playing this weekend?

Had ICL(implantable contact lens) eye surgery yesterday, eyes good enough to look at a screen today lol and snagged some cool reading/computer glasses while eyes heal lol. Nm

Crash Team Racing Nitro Boost. On the series X it is so much fun it's not even funny. It's literally like the best kart game I've ever played. It's just really fun.

Had to shelve Dying light 2. I'm pretty disappointed in it to say the least. I feel that the OG Dying Light was a far better game and that they basically left out everything that mad it fun.
I'll probably come back to it at a later date.

Started playing Earth Defense Force 4.1 and made it to mission 16 and couldn't beat it after around 10 tries, so that one is shelved too.

Started a somewhat mod free Steam Oblivion run, just using a bat file for vampire cures and a nexus carry weight mod.
First time playing on Steam without a disc so I could get that coveted horse armor among the rest of the 9 smaller DLC's I didn't have.
I never shelve an Oblivion run.

These days I like to run Bethesda games with just unofficial patches and other fixes. For Oblivion and Morrowind, I also like using nGCD with modifications to give more emphasis on class and birthsign choice for leveling since I hate the leveling system in those games.

Finally got through Dead Island and Riptide Definitive Editions, not really that much different except better optimized for 4k and prettier.
Now I'm playing through Dead Island 2 for the first time.

It is definitely different than the OG in many ways and very linear.
I do not like the combat, all weapons feel weak af. Maybe it's because I'm only 2hrs in, but it just doesn't have the feel of the first one. Cracking skulls just isn't as satisfying for some reason.
It all just feels disconnected.

You're not alone in your assessments of Dead Island 2 and Dying Light 2. Although not bad games necessarily, I've yet to find many people who preferred them over the originals.

Coincidentally, I recently got a wild craving for some zombie slaying and rather than fire up another playthrough of Dying Light (which I almost certainly will be doing at some point), I decided to jump back into Dead Island Definitive Edition, which I had shelved previously after finishing Act I for reasons I can't remember. Probably Dying Light TBH...I think my plan was to run through DIDE as a precursor to DL, but then DL just grabbed the hell out of me with its mix of verticality/parkour and nearly everything I liked about Dead Island.

Game is great fun. I feel that Dying Light is probably still the better game in most respects, but Dead Island clearly laid the foundation, and it is solid. I'd estimate I'm mid-way through Act III at this point and will definitely finish it. May take a break before jumping into Riptide since from what I've read it doesn't really introduce many new things. But, that probably means it's a solid pickup for those of us who enjoyed DI.

I highly recommend the Essential Fix for playthroughs of DIDE & DIRDE.

I've been trying a bunch of Steam Next Fest demos this week also. Will probably jump back into GTA: Vice City Definitive Edition after I finish up Dead Island.

Almost done with Wolfenstein: The New Order and will start the next one probably this week. Finally finished Solasta: Crown of the Magister also. Played some KC2, Star Trek Online and the Sims 4. Thinking about continuing CP:2077 as I haven't played it in a while.

WELL Then if you liked that I highly reccomend go back and playing Return to Castle Wolfenstien ( 2002 ish) and Wolfdenstien 2009.

Edit: I think they are either both Abandonware now or can be found on Steam..

RTCW is on Steam, GOG, and Xbox. Wolfenstein was delisted after Activision killed the multiplayer, even though it is primarily a single player game.

Been tinkering with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle now that they seem to have worked the kinks out. It's interesting (and a very good looking title), but I'm not sure it's for me. It's paced like the last Indiana Jones move (rather than Raiders or Temple of Doom) and it plays closer to Thief than I'd like. I'm going to give it another couple days, but I might end up bailing early. Luckily it's only a Gamepass title.

If you just want the multiplayer, Enemy Territory is open source, or you can get it on steam for $.

Thanks for the suggestion but I am actually very internet-Anti social with regards to multiplayer games, especially FPS's. As a old man anyways.

In my youth way back in the day I did do a lot of online interactions within gaming, but no longer. Human Entrophy.

I've been playing Uncharted 4 for quite some time and I still haven't finished it, I'm not too fast and the game is console and I'm not used to it, I still can't find the ideal settings, the game is graphically beautiful and more cinematic.
I'm playing on ultra 4K but there are small jerks, it's not smooth at 60fps.
Is this new Indiana Jones or Uncharted 4 Thiefs End better, those of you who have played both?
Nathan Drake reminds me of that Brandon Fraser, I don't know if they did it on purpose to make him look like him.

Personally, I prefer Uncharted 4, but they're very different games. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is a stealth first-person game. The game has combat, but you're mostly discouraged from going that route. Instead you're climbing and crawling to avoid violent encounters most of the time. The game world is divided into levels, but there's a lot of exploration involved.
Uncharted 4 is the most story-heavy game in that series, but it's still an action game at its core. At the very least, it's a free-running/climbing game with occasional shootouts. There's a single open-world'ish level, but you're usually going from point A to point B. That makes the narrative and action sequences tighter IMO. While the story of Lost Legacy is weak, I thing the gameplay in it = better than vanilla Uncharted 4's. Some of those later action sequences are the best in the whole Uncharted series. Plus, replaying it is more fun. Because Uncharted 4 has so many story-only sequences, replaying the game can be a bit of a chore.

Uncharted 4 is definitely not an open game, there is some space where you can explore but mostly the game itself takes you from point a to point b.
I don't think it's bad but what repels me is what was done for consoles, somehow the feeling of shooting and aiming is bad for me. The graphics are nice, the story is good but it's not better than RDR2 for me. I think I'm close to the end now but we'll see. Then I'll probably go to Lost Legacy.
One piece of advice, I think I turned off all aiming assistance (I want it to be like a real PC game, to do everything with a mouse and keyboard and not like a console and gamepad) I have to leave mouse raw input on, right?

No idea. I played all of the Uncharted games on the Playstation. It's a pretty standard 3rd person action game with the pad. You don't have to be super quick. I've beaten most of 'em on the highest difficulty and I'm not that great of a player. Like I mentioned, it's way less of a shooter than the prior titles. Uncharted 1 is almost like Gears of War with parkour thrown in. U4 is 1/2 story, 25% platformer, 25% shooter.
Lost Legacy has a big ass open world area near the beginning, but after that it's closer to the old titles.

But how does it compare to Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, the last Indiana Jones game that I have previously played? 🤔

Yes, you want raw mouse input. You don't want mouse acceleration or mouse smoothing. This game has always had issues with mouse input, though. They said they kept fixing and adjusting it up through their last patch.

LOL, that game was an all-time great, but it's pretty dated by today's standards. Still, I was a big fan of that style of adventure game.
The new Indy has reviewed well and the graphics and overall polish/presentation are absolutely top notch. Personally, I find the gameplay to be a little clumsy and it's heavy on skulking around Thief-style compared to something like Uncharted or Tomb Raider. Some people really like that about it, though. I will say that I've gotten into it more as I've gotten further. Things open up a little bit as you progress in the main story. If you get caught up with the side stuff, you'll hit a wall.

What does everyone here think of robocop rogue city bc it's on sale on Steam for 9.99?? 80% is huge I've been waiting for it to go this low but is it worth it

Scored a snesish 8nitdo controller the other day and have been using it to play through some A Link To The Past romhacks. So far it's been fun and well worth the $10 investment from goodwill for the controller

I still have so many games that need to be finished:

Resident Evil 2
Resident Evil 7
Kenshi
The Forest
Total War: Three Kingdom
Yakuza 0

How did indy end up?? Good ok decent?
Opinions are mixed, but I really enjoyed it. If you're a fan of the original film trilogy then I think you'll enjoy this one, as the story and the way it plays fits right in with those movies. Only thing I wish for is a higher puzzle difficulty since the highest is "medium" and I still think there was too much handholding.

After Uncharted 4 I started playing Lost Legacy and it's also a good game, there's a lot to explore too but I don't really feel like searching for treasure. I looked at the statistics for Uncharted 4 a bit and I didn't find a lot of treasure, but I thought I did. So there's a lot to explore for anyone who wants to. And the stories may be interesting for those who understand the language well. I don't understand more than half of what they're saying.

Who didn't like 1 and 2 as a kid lol I just hate buying games no matter how cheap they are us in but gong to enjoy them... Even free games...

I'm only 10 hours in, but so far, I am enjoying it. The graphics maxed out are pretty decent, the voice acting is insanely good, where the original characters sound like the movies. The game speed is hit or miss, but I am doing every little side thing so far, so that probably slows it down a little. Expect a decent pace, but with slowdowns if you do side stuff. With that being said, the side "missions" actually appear to add meaningful content to the actual story / mystery. So far it is fun though.
